Thanks for passing along this video. It contains useful information.

Some things were glossed over which people should be aware of.

1) Essential circuits (internet, lights, refrigerator, etc) have to be rerouted from the main breaker panel to the 'protected load panel' which, in the video, is the sub panel enclosure installed to the left of the Gateway. The rerouting of those circuits can get pretty messy depending on where the main panel is located, driving up installations cost.

2) The time needed to back up the circuits was a couple of seconds in the demo because the Cybertruck was plugged in and awake. If the Cybertruck is not plugged in, or parked where it can be plugged in, restoring power could take considerably longer. You'll need an alternative backup system to keep essential circuits powered during periods when your CT is not at the house.

3) Powershare doesn't handle solar panel power generation as installed in the video. That means that while the grid is down, the power output of your solar panels is unavailable for use, including for recharging the Cybertruck battery. For this capability you need a Powerwall or equivalent system.

I seriously considered putting in the Powershare system in my house, but because of these limitations and the high cost of installation, in the end, decided not to.

Regarding this point I asked my installer about adding solar panels and a powerwall in the future. He said that currently the gateway V3 doesn't support solar but he had spoken with a representative at Tesla who indicated that solar was a possible future feature. Does anyone know enough about the V3 Hardware to comment whether it could be capable of integrating into a Tesla solar setup?
