The way that I had heard some of the Tesla discussions made it sound like there was more pump than reservoir. This looks to be a decent size reservoir.

Nice, this is helpful! I see the tank is rated for ~300 psi but curious what pressure it normally operates at... any chance this is shown in service mode? Wondering if someone could just tee into that light gray line with a check valve and plumb to a connector somewhere for airing up tires...

I don't really disagree with you, but it's listed as "Operating Pressure" not "Max Pressure". That suggested to me that it may be operating at 300 psi. But I really don't know.

I did hear that it didn't have enough to fill a tire, which is why they don't make it available to fill tires.

On a tank, operating pressure means do not exceed, so "max operating pressure". Not sure I understand how it couldn't "have enough" to fill a tire. The pump would be either "not fast enough" or "not duty rated enough". I doubt a pump meant to operate air shock for the life of vehicle can't handle filling tires once in a while. My bet is they left the option unavailable because people would try running air tools or other high demand high duty cycle things and either be disappointed or cause a premature failure. I'll be careful not to do that. :)

There's supposedly not enough air in the tank to fill the tire and supposedly it would take a long time for the pump to catch up to complete filling.

A great example of designers and engineers working with the service center team. Super easy access to diagnose/repair failed component's.

It was explained on the Leno interview with two execs that it was too slow.

To slow to quickly air up tires on the fly.
But if you are out somewhere with a flat slow n steady is better than waiting for help. 300 PSI even at very low volume of compression will fill a tire, and having the option would sure be nice.
