I was at the local dealership here in Southern California today trying to get some info on where my truck was. It did leave Texas but is now sitting in some temporary storage facility is San Diego during this delivery delay. I must have missed delivery by about 2 days i would guess.

The guy who helped me was very helpful and showed me all the info he could see. One bit of info he shared from what he had been told was the delivery delay is currently slated to run until April 23.

So at least now we have some idea of what timeline Tesla is talking about internally.

Fingers crossed this gets cleared up by then.

Damn April 23? That’s gonna push the April-June delivery time by a lot. Good thing production hasn’t stopped since there was that video of over 1k CT’s in Austin today.
Hoping this gets resolved quick so people start getting their CT’s.

Thank you for this info. I don’t understand why Tesla has to keep every little thing a secret. Why invite so much unnecessary speculation? My local SC didn’t even know there was a stop sale until I told them. Unless they are incredible actors, they were not bluffing! I texted my sales guy and he said it’s impossible that the SC didn’t know, and he said 2 week delay as a “best case”.

I’m spending $100k and I deserve to know why my truck is delayed, and when to prepare for it.

I have already spent over 100k, and am trying to get answers...
As am I. Spent over 100k, money already theirs for 2 weeks now. And I'm carrying insurance on it too as it's registered under me with the DMV so I have to. And...very few answers and no time frame at all. Kind of a crappy way for a newbie such as me to get introduced to the Tesla world. And that is aside from all the other potential issues and service probabilities which seem to be inordinately high

Yep, I'm in a similar boat. Paid in full, insurance activated, the delivery window came and went, zero communication from them, not even a text, so I went to the dealership to ask.
I think this is an area Tesla could easily improve on. While they seem to be focussed on Robotaxi and introducing new tech, they have lost sight of the fact that they are a big car company now and need to have the customer service to match. The customer service is weak, very weak, because of simple lack of communication. It puts a bad taste in the mouth of all customers involved. And we, of course, are some of Tesla's most die hard fans, so it makes no sense. When I look at the share price tumbling, I know why.

This is my argument. They had no problem accepting my wire. And now I'm just completely in the dark while they make interest on my 100k. Just like with the 100 and 1000 deposits.

Communication here lacking and distribution centers with zero knowledge is frustrating. Going to mess up my schedule pretty good when it gets delayed again this weekend. I can't imagine them fixing it by Saturday when they can't give me any information.

This specific issue cropped up last Friday. Here we are, already 5 days later and still there is no definition around when the repairs might be complete or delivery rescheduled. I'm a patient person but if this is how Tesla handles things they are going to get slaughtered when real EV competition shows up, which eventually will.

lol april-june? less than 50% of the "Jan-March" orders have been delivered.
I know lol, which already pushed the April-June deliveries. And now they are gonna be pushed even more so. Guess I should’ve said all deliveries lol.

This issue will probably be fixed after they start shipping new hubcaps or right before the end of the quarter. There is no incentive for Tesla to fix trucks that are stuck in limbo, they much would rather use the resources to produce new trucks instead. It might even be faster to have a new VIN assigned

Other than I'm not sure on the legality of taking someone's payment in full, registering car under them, and not delivering it for an extended period of time. Pretty sure the lemon law or something must kick in. Like anything else, they surely get a grace period to repair or deliver, but it isn't open-ended and certainly not more a month or so, I'd expect

I suspect that they have some other surprise planned that correlates to that date of April 23rd.... FSD? Release of non-foundation series?...?

What is there to keep a secret? They don't want employees blabbing incorrect information. Just better to be vague, legally.

No, I'd say it's better to have a clear message, from the top, so everyone has the same information- staff, customers, delivery, service...everyone. How is keeping hush-hush a better strategy? It only invites rumor and speculation
