Tesla Cybertruck New Cybertruck Ready/ Tow friendly Supercharger spotted 570B2BF1-48EE-403B-910D-BC9E4575B25B

Here’s a SC station in a parking lot. Not only is there a dedicated pull-thru station, but the rest are accessible from either side. A vehicle and trailer could park across the spots on one side without blocking access to the other.

I’ve seen them like that, when they can put them in the center of a parking area is the best in terms of bang for the buck on trailer spots.

I still don't think pull through trailer compatible chargers exist, this clearly a doctored image that has replaced fuel browsers with Tesla chargers. You can clearly see it in the shadows. But maybe thats because the sky is falling? I dunno hard to tell...
I'm with Jbee, if it were real, there'd be an asshole in a diesel ford parked there blocking the SC.

How is this a problem? They're chargers. Then you wait. Why should they wait if one is available?

-Crissa
You are missing the point... other users without trailers/campers will park there to charge even if there is a regular spot available. This is the nature of the beast!

If the station is full and those are the only stalls available I would do it in a heartbeat.

Aside from that, I agree, it’s a jerk move.
See now I love your thinking.... you know it's a jerk move but you'd do it in a heartbeat, but only if there is no other.... but i'm talking about people being lazy and just pulling into the first one they see when a non-trailer spot is open. We all know it's gonna happen... just a matter of time! :)

A camera & AI could disable chargers if unfairly used, and likely to impact drivers who don't have a choice.

It could be enabled or disabled depending on how busy the charges are , and how likely you don’t have another choice. A coloured light could be all it needs.

I'd like to say we won’t have an issue, but commercial drivers are not renowned for being patient.

I totally would do the same. Though if a EV w/ trailer showed up I would relinquish my charging. When I use to take the train downtown daily, there would be times when I was late due to a local appointment and every single parking spot was taken except for about 20 empty handicap locations. I would take the farthest out location handicap spot and put a note in my window explaining the dilemma. I would say over the course of 12 years of taking the train about 5 times I had to do this. I never once was ticketed for the situation thankfully. Though I did get ticketed a few times for not paying the parking fee due to a lack of any small bills or change so I know they were watching and patrolling the lot. Last 6 years or so, they expanded the parking lot by 3x size and this was never an issue again.

If the station is full it is not a jerk move to use the only available stall.

If the station has open spaces it is a jerk move to use the only space available to some people.

It’s a charging station, to hell I’m sitting parked waiting to charge on the off chance someone with a trailer shows up.

The available charger gets used by who ever shows up. Being courteous and allowing someone with a trailer to take the spot that facilitates that is all well intentioned. The Idea that one person over another gets to demand a charger is where it goes wrong. If all the chargers were full except the trailer pull thru slot and I needed to charger I am going there. The SC makes the wait time relatively short so that means if I am charging for 20 mins and you pull up in your trailer 5 mins in you might have to wait 15-20 mins. Now if I am on an extended trip I may need to fully charge. If there is not other open SC then I need to stay plugged in. If there was an charger that opened up in the mean time I would move to accommodate the trailer.

My pet peeve is seeing a vehicle plugged in and not charging, taking a space. This happened lot at the free charge stations at some shopping centers. I had a Ford Focus EV with a very limited range of 80 miles, really about 60 usable. I had many anxious moments where I pull up to a charger with 1-4 miles left , unable to make it to another charger only to see a cold car that is not charging. I would sometime be able to pull close enough at for the cord to reach and plug in. I would charge just enough to make it home or to the next charging station. Thankful on a few occasions the owner would return and I would explain. It was never a real confrontation.

On the flip side I did have a confrontation when I had stopped to shop and plugged in. Some dude with an EV company wrap on the vehicle wedged his way in to the space between the charger and my car blocking me n and had unplugged my car to charge his. He was very aggressive and I was about to call the cops after he refused to unplug. Just then the mall security showed up and he beat a hasty retreat.

Makes me appreciate that Teslas have a secure/ locking charger mechanism.

I couldn’t imagine being so much of an ass that you’d grab someone’s charge cable without asking. It’s like saying your time is worth more than theirs.

Is this similar to the question, if all the stalls are occupied except the handicapped stall, can you use it? There's always the risk that the other stalls leave while you're still in the handicapped stall, then someone in a wheel chair comes in and sees all the stalls empty except the one he needs.

Here is a less fancy but entirely trailer friendly setup which is a bit more common.
