I got my CT at the end of October. As I completed the delivery process, two Tesla staff members told me to not charge it up more than 80%. and to leave the setting alone as it came to me at 80% from the factory.

Update:
I received information today from the SC and they stated they have started the repair process with my cybertruck. An hour or so later, my cybertruck phoned home and it now shows “Parked” rather than “Last seen 9 Days ago”. This means there is progress.

Why are you charging to 80%? Tesla recommends 15-50%.
PSA: I’ve supercharged my 17MS between 80-85% nearly everyday with 130k miles. No issues. (With the average battery degradation for age/mileage.)

That’s what Tesla told me to do also during the first years of my 17MS. (They are being proactively protective for the average driver/user.)

It’s good that you are curious, but that was such an irrelevant thing to ask for what OP posted. There are SO MANY reasons why someone has to charge to 80% - quick road trip, to power tools all day, just to see if it works, new to EV, long term parking with sentry mode, and 100+ other reasons.

Now the entire thread is getting derailed on something that’s nothing to do with what OP posted. I understand it’s important to educate others, but it’s such an irrelevant topic to OP’s concerns.

OP, sorry to hear you had this issue. Hope they root cause it soon. Please keep us posted on what they say. One takeaway for me is to not keep the truck plugged in when doing software upgrades, just to be on the safer side!

There’s always people who does that eh? But people didn’t bother to realize that I was about to head out for a road trip that is about 150 miles. So I normally charge to 80% to get there. For what it’s worth, I normally keep the battery at near to 60%.

I’ll keep others updated here but so far, it’s good news since it phoned home. No longer says “Last seen 9 Days Ago” and went to “Parked”. As of this writing, it is now set to “Service Mode”. Now awaiting results and reason.

I’m glad it’s getting serviced now. I wish the wall charger had removal cable for these type of emergencies. Please definitely ask them why this happened, and how we can make towing easy for these emergencies if it’s plugged in (other than cutting the cable or removing the wall charger).

I’m surprised that Tesla doesn’t recommend 69%

Update:
I was notified today that I could pick up my cybertruck. I spoke to ghe advisor for additional detail and I was informed that the internal left body controller went out and stopped communicating to the battery. They had the part in inventory and they replaced it. They did additional diagnostics and found no other issues (cross fingers). They also replaced the 12v battery and installed the wheel cover. Drove it home and so far so good.
