Made my own pilgrimage today to start my Christmas/NY break.

I’ll be embarrassingly honest and say I almost cried when I got to the staircase and saw it below. I really liked it before. Now I love it and the dimensions are perfect! I hope it’s exactly the same size. I also hope they still bring the hubcaps out though they would obviously be terrible for off-roading.
Looks like 6’4 would be about the peak roof height averaging the squat and max heights together. Frunk area is wider than a Lightning but not as deep or long. The cabin space itself appears smaller than a supercrew F150.

One thing I noticed is you can actually see where the sledge hit both times and theres odd damage on several of the stainless corners. It also appears to me that to make the vault worth with a midgate would mean putting the canister in interference with the battery pack.
The rest of the museum was really incredible. I spent about 4 hrs learning all sorts of info. Totally worth the trek if you can swing it.

I visited the museum when the Cybertruck concept was first displayed. I found the truck to be much better looking in person. Did you feel the same?

The one thing that still stays with me is the humungous size of the windshield. It’s absolutely insane how large it is.

Hanz said the production version would be a few percent smaller than the concept.

What I'd like to see is if the sides, bonnet and windscreen are straight or curved.

Slight curvature on the windshield, hood and front valance. Everything else appeared to be flat surfaces.

Ah cool thx. So no curvature down the sides with the widest section of the CT at the doors? Maybe that's only on the later version?

I think the later version also has more curvature on the windscreen too, which is visible on the roof apex in the photos.

Where do people think the canister for the tonneau is?
Haven't seen it in person but i wish they'd chop 6" of dash and add it to rear passenger footwell. That and the general interior roominess is something the f150 cabin really does well
That would likely reduce the front footwell by 6" as well?

According to their patent, it is underneath the front of the truck bed behind the seat. Shouldn’t affect legroom.

Maybe I mis-understood your comment.

Can't do that, if you move the front seats forward you'll quickly kill headroom.

Also. Last night I went out with some friends to the Sawtelle area of LA to a place called Killer Noodles (incredible Ramen imo) and out front a hummer EV was parked. The interior was more spacious in the hummer vs the CT in my opinion. The owner volunteered to let me drive it. Quite frankly I was blown away by the plush nature of the suspension and it was comically fun to feel the torque move that much mass. Did not ask to try Watts To Freedom mode out of respect for him but it was much faster than my brain tells me any vehicle that size should go.

one observation about the suspension is the hummer’s control arms are clearly more robust and longer than those of the CT proto. Hope that changes otherwise it won’t be as flexible off road as the hummer is.

I’m pretty sure Cybertruck will weigh in at about 60% of the weight of the Hummer so it having less robust swing arms is entirely appropriate.

The wheel well on this side makes no sense and is very different than the one on the other side.
Passenger side casting is way higher than driver's side casting.
Also if these are castings why is the casting machine arriving today.
What are you talking about with the wheel wells? They are rounded at the top. If you account for that, using the shiny bits as the mark, you will find this line parallel to the rear roofline.
It seems to me this is a version of the actual cast parts. There is so much detail here that would not be required in an alignment jig. For example the rear right assembly appears to have a circular ring where perhaps a compressor motor might mount, below the right wheel well is a section to clear the motor housing.
My $.02 anyway. Paul

They used actual Model Y bodies for their alignment jigs.

which weight has certainly been a factor in damage ive had and witnessed in the thousands of miles ive driven off road before, torque has been the culprit, especially during a loss and gain traction event. The cybertruck has a quoted payload thats 3x the hummers so the GVWR between the two is likely the same.

Hard to say without final specs. But my money is on a fully loaded Cybertruck being about the same weight as the Hummer empty. (Or less even)

You won’t be going off-road at max gross vehicle weight regardless.
