Agreed, but I'm sure its related to weight savings for range. Would be nice, but I prefer the range if either or.
So what's under the that plastic? Regular steel? Bah!

Noticeably, there is no drivers display behind the wheel. I think there was at least one beta which had that. I would love that, but you can't have it all! This beta looks amazing.
I read about a Tesla driver that wanted the same so he mounted an iPhone on the dash and ran SuperHUD app, there are other options I’ve seen also. I’ll probably try it if there is no dash speedo. I really like my HUD (2014 basic display), I’ll miss it regardless.

I think I was told the black bumpers on the truck are steal, not plastic.

Maybe that? Looks like it is for the upper sail and it folds downward.

I think the sail storage is concept is toast. By the looks of the giga casting pix, it looks like there just isn't any real room fer it.

Didn’t read the 18 pages maybe I’ll catch up later. The truck looked rad and looks true to the original. Here’s what I noticed which is interesting to me.

The Good
  • Looks like frunk opens to the top of the bumper. That’ll be quite nice if so.
  • Back seats fold up leaving a large floor area. This will be super handy for hauling things and maybe sleeping in the back.
Just observations.
  • Interior is spartan, I expected this.
  • The second driver display is not there. Not surprising. Wasn’t on the original and it’s limited to Teslas low volume vehicles.
  • Black vault area. Not sure if it’s composite or steel covered in textured material. Looks nice
  • Only one fairly small panel in the back which appears to be for electrical. Likely only 1-2 outlets or even 1 outlet plus the compressor. Doesn’t bother me, but might bother some.
  • Weird Squircle steering wheel. I hope this doesn’t mean we’ll be losing drive by wire.
  • Interior of vault has sides that slope inward. Sort of like wheel wells, but much less pronounced. Maybe adding 4WS forced them to expand the wheel area?
The Bad
  • Looks like Sail Pillar Storage is deleted?
  • Only 2 seats in the front and the console is ugly.
I’m holding out a tiny hope for these last 2, but it’s fleeting.

I like the 5% delete. I’d prefer the vault be 6+ feet useful though so hopefully I’ll still be able to get the bikes in there, wheel wells shouldn’t be an issue.

If the sail pillar storage has to be accessed from the inside of the vault, that takes about 70% of it’s usefulness away. Having access to tools and straps without opening the vault is a huge advantage. Having in the vault storage is ok, but not something I’d use much.

V2G or worse V2H would kill Tesla Solar division
and worse
Musk is in deep legal problem when Tesla Solar $19 Billion Tesla loss due to Musk hand in buying a bankrupt solar from Musk brother.

Why V2H V2G Bankrupts Tesla Solar ($19 B loss)

Tesla solar division is based on Power Walls. With
low cost GAF solar shingle
Low Cost China solar panels
There is nothing that Tesla Solar could sell with out Low Cost Robust Tesla Power Walls. With out Power Walls Tesla Solar division is bankrupt.

and

With V2H V2G Tesla EvCar there is no needed for Power Walls and again Tesla Solar only advantage is Power Walls.

So V V2H V2G means

$19 B loss to Tesla motor company and potential legal action against Musk for Musks part in buying a money losing company from Musks brother.
Troll much?

This picture has me holding out a little hope for sail pillar storage. The gap between the side panel and the top of the sidewall makes me wonder if it’s a deliberate seam similar to the ones on the side of the frunk.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the dash goes way too deep / that the angle of the windshield creates a wasted space between the steering wheel and where the windshield meets the dash? Doesn't seem right... Would be interesting to see the frunk - must go very deep to make use of this space?

There's a gap in the front as well for the sail storage, full size door to open.
Frunk has grill lift visible here too.
Frunk will most definitely extend under the dash to use some of that volume.

Looks like a lot of potential storage space. is there an access point? Can you lift this for storage?
