Hot take: I dont want boat mode
Sponsored
Right, and I want those. but dont want boat mode lolBoat “Mode” is literally just better seals. Also useful for blocking noise, rain, cold air, etc etc.
Speaking of seals... Back at the begining of this adventure that is CT there was a discussion here about animals getting into the body and causing havoc. I'm very curious at this point about if boat mode has also included sealing all the joints under the vehicle and in the wheel wells. Is this thing going to be basically vermin proof?Boat “Mode” is literally just better seals. Also useful for blocking noise, rain, cold air, etc etc.
On an ICE vehicles, most of the engine, wiring, etc is exposed and there are lots of good nesting spots.Speaking of seals... was anyone questioning if that was an actual prototype? In case you missed it. Area in the yellow box is way too close for someone to have “Guessed” that’s how it would look.![]()
I am 99% confident now that the CT frunk will open like the lighting.Look at ogre image above that's circled...those underlying structures are in plane with the door openings and sides. If you imagine them putting doors in and bolting the "sails" to those structures there's no room for storage. If the sails do bolt to that structure, the only way it would have room if those structures rotated out and up with the "sail" panel attached. It could but prob not likely.
No need for sail storage when there is the frunk that should be pretty deep. Also from the video from investor day the frunk looks like it opens up like the ford lightening possibly, which I think is way more useful imo.
I attached a pic to give u an idea, to me looks like that whole front area lifts up...not 100% though

See pages 1,3,4,7-12, 15,-21, and 23-35 of this thread.was anyone questioning if that was an actual prototype?
i guess there are still folks that believe the earth is flat too.See pages 1,3,4,7-12, 15,-21, and 23-35 of this thread.
I think there have been enough forgeries, false alarms, and digital mock-ups that skepticism was legit.
I'm skeptical that the highlighted sections are gigacastings. In case you missed it. Area in the yellow box is way too close for someone to have “Guessed” that’s how it would look.![]()
There was no one doubting the image on the first page. I just checked.i guess there are still folks that believe the earth is flat too.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'BIRDS AREN’T REAL'?
The term “Birds Aren’t Real” refers to biological “Birds” no longer existing on United States soil. After the government forcibly made the entire species extinct in the 20th century, all of these real birds were replaced with surveillance drones designed to look just like Birds. To simplify- Birds no longer exist in the U.S. as a biological lifeform, thus, Birds Aren’t Real!
I dont think the pieces in the sail pillars are Giga castings either. Was thinking much smaller casting machine. Might be a high strength composite as well. Hadn’t thought of that.I'm skeptical that the highlighted sections are gigacastings.
First, every gigacasting I've seen is silver (bare aluminum), not black. It is not necessary to paint them, and Tesla is trying to reduce manufacturing steps.
Second, all types of complex metal parts were used in cars before the gigapress came along.
Lastly, that area does not require the same level of stiffness and support needed for the current structures replaced with castings. I'd say those pieces in the sail wings could even be plastic or composite.
Most likely this is a hand fabricated mock up of what could eventually become cast parts.I'm skeptical that the highlighted sections are gigacastings.
