To put what I am about to say in perspective; I have owned cars for 3.5 decades and until 6 months ago never paid over $11K for a car and I have been very happy with my ride for most of that time. So I understand when people say these trucks are expensive but times have changed. Look at another car with a lot less capability and similar range and tell me if $78K for a 450 mile tuck still sounds expensive:

I just checked fleet pricing for a 1/2-ton, crew cab, 4x4, 6'7" bed truck. They start at $40K. It would be very difficult to make up the $40K price differential in fuel and maintenance savings.

How much do you think the CT will cost? I bet it will be $60-80k, especially if they deliver the performance and features people are hoping for.

77 is much closer to 80 than 60. It's closer to 80 than the top trim of the Cybertruck was revealed at.

I’ll be very surprised if they can sell these at volume. Ford is struggling selling the Lightning at current prices and I’m not sure either are going to fly as a entry level work truck.

Currently watching a 22' with 3k miles locally that's been sitting for 126 days, price is now down to under $63k as of today. Lariat standard range(230mi), beautiful truck.

Costs TOO much. Better options are just about here.

I've seen one in person. It's a beast, for sure. I would say it's a better truck than the Lightning, as it should be since it's a ground up EV design rather than an ICE conversion.

I don't care about WT pricing, since I can't buy one as a consumer. And those prices are convoluted by business tax considerations.
Will see what an 1LT, 300+mile version goes for as that is the sweet spot for the consumer truck buyer. Probably a 2025 timing for that.

Going go out on a big hefty limb here and say. We will get epa on cybertruck soon. GM does things like this. Drop something huge when something around is about to get dropped. Not just GM. Other companies too. But, come on.

IDK man. We didn't see Model 3 EPA for several months after first deliveries. But, they may have Cybertruck in the tunnel right now...

The Silverado (with midgate) is a compelling truck. But this pricing/trim level situation makes it a no-go.

About the pricing situation:
GM, Ford, Rivian...they don't seem to have any intention on selling an EV truck at a reasonable price. Probably because they aren't making money off these things.

I think Elon intends to sell cybertrucks at a reasonable price. He could earn the respect of truck driving Americans pretty quickly if the CT was priced 10K less than the competition and offered the same (or better) features. CT would become the clear leader in the EV truck space. Long term, this cements Tesla's lead as an all-around auto manufacturer. Even if Tesla doesn't make major profits from the CT (which Elon has already said they won't), it will be very good for Tesla to prove they're not just for tech bros.

OR, he could price the CT in line with the competition, let's say 80-100k. Far fewer CT's will sell, and it will be looked at as a flop.

It's hilarious the bi-polar response to EV truck pricing on this forum! People all be so confident and willing for the CT base model to be 70-80k despite what was announced, claiming that is a justifiable and affordable price range for a truck, but Chevy announces those same prices for realz and the crowd now balks at it saying its ridiculously high priced and no one in their right mind can afford a truck at that price!

footnote: I realize I'm lumping all sides of the argument in together generalizing everyone as one, despite there being a very clear group of higher income members who are willing and think these things should be pricing out the average blue collar members, and there is clearly a group of lower income general blue collar members like myself who have always thought the opposite. I'm clearly making a sarcastic generalization to point out the absurdity of pricing these ev trucks! I'm always willing to include myself in the ridicule of arguments. Don't take my statement so seriously and get bent out of shape.

I am not saying I am against the Silverado. I think its the best option aside from CT. Im just hoping the CT is affordable for me. And if not, Im hoping the cheapest Silverado is affordable for me!

Yea. Like, fundamentally the efficiency would be crazy. That same 98kwh? pack the Lightning has would yield like 210 with the Silverado EV WT(1)?

Push it out for 55k. Lighter, tax incentive capable.

That think would blow up(no pun intended...)
