no, we didnt

We saw a cab chassis surrounded by some robot (welding?) arms

the same day as seeing contemporaneous photos of part of the casting portion of line floor looking like a hoarders storage unit

that’s no more seeing a “CyberTruck on an assembly line in Texas” than is seeing castings at GTX
Correct. We saw some poor contractor's last moments wasted on a nothingburger video from the BIW line during station commissioning.

I'd like an hour of storytime around a campfire with someone from Tesla HR

From my days in the hydrocarbon business, the contractor/field stories are always the best

I cant read all the discussion right now but is there any guess as to what the item in the frunk is and is it fixed. I bet that is fixed and the frunk is actually very small due to the short nose on the CT. i am thinking its part of the motor and cooling assembly. Looking at the previous front casting images there isn't much room left between the wheel well for the motor assembly and all the other little stuff like the heat pump. What say you my great speculating companions? The city made me get rid of my chickens so i couldn't hold them up to the screen for a good measurement.

I know there have been multiple frunk discussions and I already spend too much time on this forum but haven't scanned them all. if you check out my simply sketch below i think i am right. Its been shown that the firewall in red likely comes all the way to the castings simply due to the position of the driver and the short vehicle nose. I am fairly certain that you can see the casting I circled in blue below in the image of the frunk open which really shows you how short the frunk is. there is maybe 3' past where that casting corner starts to the firewall. That's not a ton of room for the motor and other cooling components which have no other place they could possibly be. i would say maybe there is below the frunk floor which seems like maybe 8" between the front skid plate, but from what i recall from that crash test under vehicle image there are some crash bars and cross rails down there so i don,t think they are going to squeeze much more down there. anyway, i think that green circle is the motor assembly right in the middle of the frunk. So basically there is very little frunk. Maybe 2' at most in depth. If i am right that kind of stinks because the vault is a little hard to access with the high sail pillars. Someone prove me wrong.

Edit: i do like seeing me some nice motor assembly so if that is the motor right out there i am going to put some plexiglass over it and some led lights that turn on when I open the frunk that cast some nasty light and shadows on that marvel of modern technology. My kids can put the grocery bags by their feet.

I wonder is the floating CT is still a thing. wouldnt this larger and lower area be much harder to seal?
There is no way the CT will warrantee or insure anything closely related to the CT going in water. Yes it will withstand water for some time and maybe more time than a traditional vehicle but it will not float for a long time and they will never ever guarantee that.

Don’t quite get the worries over frunk size myself.

If you have big things to haul, there is a huge vault in the back. Frunk is auxiliary storage.

Lumber goes in the vault, fasteners and small parts in the frunk.

Big screen TV goes in the vault; PlayStation in the frunk.

Skis in the vault, boots and gloves in the frunk.

Trail tools, hoes, rock picks in the vault, chainsaw in the frunk.

Bikes in the vault; helmet, shoes, and gloves in the frunk.

Its where you put the stuff you don’t want rattling around and getting lost in the vault.

Truck beds are hard to access and everything slides around. Sometimes I leave extra stuff in my truck bed to help prevent things from crashing around. I am thinking like 8 bags of groceries. It’s looking like that’s about the max the drink will hold. Or think about luggage for multiple people. The drink would be the ideal spot but it looks like it might be getting tight for more that two peoples luggage. In my world the truck bed gets full and dirty fast. The frunk will be for the wife and kids stuff so they aren’t in a physics and durability contest with the current load of tool boxes, paint cans, lumber and misc plumbing tools floating around back there. I get that we are spoiled to even have a frunk with the EV truck but based on my observations it is going to be the smallest EV truck frunk on the market

This is exactly what it’s good for.

Vault is huge and swallows stuff. Frunk (and hopefully sail pillars) are for smaller gear you don’t want sliding around. Frunk is perfect for groceries and soccer gear.

If we have a huge Frunk, huge cab, and huge vault, then it won't fit in most garages.

If we say it has a small Frunk, we should also consider that it is bigger somewhere else.... because that is the tradeoff.

One could say, I'm happy it's got a smaller Frunk.

Probably not that small anyway lol

Are you saying the CT won't plow through the water like a speedboat? My world is shattered.

Frunk big enough for my cooler? Then it's big enough

NZ Weather testing. This happens too often - we know where the CT is and that it's being tested out in the open but for some reason, we rarely get any follow-on video of it. We've seen the sliding and drifting video, but hasn't there been any further sightings? Are these sightings all orchestrated by Tesla? If so, well done, Tesla. Well done. I mean, it's irritating, but kudos all the same.

While I agree with you, if the frunk is powered, and if it is wide enough, even if not very deep, I might be able to get my kiteboard in there and that would be very nice. Frunks with manual opening are awkward to use and the CT frunk will be heavy but at least it won’t be as fragile as our Model 3/Y.

What about the rear lockable storage? We know it has survived and it isn’t huge but should augment the frunk space. Also, bags sliding around has been an issue in trunks and SUVs forever and people make nets to control that. The CT bed will have ample ways to tie down such a net. Also, the CT will be able to crouch to make it a bit easier to get things into and out. I am not disagreeing with you but wondering aloud if there might be workarounds if the frunk doesn’t meet your needs.
