Extremely disappointing news from Tesla. Zero insight from Tesla on specs, pricing, range. Still technically in 'tooling' and testing phase. What a letdown.
I dont understand what you were expecting from the shareholder slide deck lol

Why would they make those sort of announcements there?

We're only a couple of months away from actual CT deliveries and we still can't confirm REAL pricing and ACTUAL features on these things. And NO ONE has even seen the frunk space?
Unless you are one lucky buzzard, you and all the rest of us are still at least 1 year away from being able to take delivery of our CT. Not sure what your rush is. There will be plenty of notice on the official frunk size, videos of people who took delivery trying to climb into their frunk to demonstrate size, and crazy stunt videos of people miss-using their frunks in various ways.

By the way, like half of the features we were promised ON THE OFFICIAL TESLA PRESENTATION SLIDES are not even being delivered, truth.
Since the truck itself is not yet being delivered, I find it hard to believe that you KNOW what features have been dropped. Compared to how legacy auto handles prototypes vs shipping product, the CT is so far remarkable in how close the release candidate is to what was originally shown.

Sure, there have been various features bandied about by Tesla in there original announcement. But I have yet to see any of those (short of the actual dimensions) being officially changed or dropped. Once the first actual CTs start getting delivered, we'll find out much more about what is actually in or out.

This is bizarre.
Self referential?

I post Cybertruck stuff on the Internet and people like it.

So as I somewhat expected, the picture shown earlier of the first one built in Texas was not technically a first production vehicle, but more like first release candidate from Texas?

If the status is ‘tooling’ and that equipment is being installed, that means production hasn’t technically started but they are testing everything.
Yes and no.

That was the first line built Cybertruck, in Texas, completely.

There have been parts made in Texas used on builds since May, but the truck tesla posted on Saturday was assembled as if it were to be sold using all production spec components and labor, including automation.

This might be slightly melodramatic.. they probably added things better than the presentation too.. time to pump the brakes on sky is falling

My point stands. Elon just repeated what was in the deck, unlikely anything else will be revealed.

Again, my point stands. Why would they announce that here? You don't think the truck deserves its own event?

FINALLY! This is the photo I've been waiting years for. CT is badass. It's capable. It's off road. So much BS FUD could have been prevented over the last couple years by using photos like this to promote the truck. Glad it's finally happening! So excited.

Now when the media writes a clickbait article about electric trucks, they have some awesome photos to include. Works wonders on public perception.

What event other than the delivery event could it possibly warrant? Specs like that have historically been revealed in earnings calls.
