I am trying to figure out how much of this is a joke and how much is something you actually care about.
Pretty much all joking ?
Except..... the price rumors.
I know we only have speculation and honestly, I wouldn't blame them charging whatever they can get. That said, at the unveiling, the dual motor CT was priced less than the Nov 2019 Model Y ($52k LR AWD). #fingerscrossed they stay focused on the affordability spec

Still hoping their prices are, more or less, in line with the prices at unveiling. There have been a lot of wild predictions of prices and I don’t pay much attention to them but I am psychologically prepared for a delta.

Im getting a CT regardless of what it does/doesnt come with feature wise:
-- if it squats for bed loading - it's an improvement over my current truck for loading bikes
-- if it has a ramp, awesome, I dont have to have separate ones
--if it has none of the above I'll load it like a traditional truck as I have for 30 years
-- but at a min it does have underfed storage for tie downs and fork braces - winning! :)
-- if it's too narrow to do this:

or this:
1691935710499.jpeg

then I guess my friends need to bring their own truck!

and if a 500mi CT cant tow this for 200 miles then I'll keep my current truck too!
1691935939200.webp

I just prefer to replace my current Truck and My M3P with a single bad ass vehicle that's better than both combined and can do it all! But I realize that's a tall order for my use cases so I'll make it work regardless!

Regardless of above - jazzed about:
--Stainless exterior - door dings and hail damage a thing of the past
--much more capable and comfortable suspension vs. a 2500HD
--more storage vs. current truck
--faster than my M3P by a hair and 1k more towing and payload than truck
-- better than 14mpg unloaded so works better than my truck for winter commute
--love Tesla tech, hoping a few more modes/farkles with CT off-road capability
--makes room in my garage where m3p sits so I can buy more toys (won't park truck there even if it fits)
--fit's in parking garage at work (current one is literally < 1/2" clearance - bit nerve racking)
--hopefully leverages my 80amp Gen 1 charger for fast charging
--I have a 6 seater now, but have never used 6th seat so no loss going to 5
--hopefully better tie down system - appears to be so
--lockable vault - nice!
-- hopefully enough exportable power to charge my ebikes and Stark Varg eMoto (comming in Sept) and maybe my 4kw RV bank if for some reason solar and generator issue - 30amp 220v would be awesome!
--air compressor for moto tires / trailer tires / truck tires - awesome vs. carrying separate
-- easier trailer loading (if it kneels, has better camera system)
--self leveling for safer towing
--lowering to a reasonable level for elders and lil ones can get in easier
-- Safe AF if like other teslas
-- hoping for Brembo eBrakes (have brembo's on all my other vehicles/moto's except the truck, which does have great brakes regardless)
--awesome annual maintenance process although sure there might be a bit more on the CT if towing, offroading
--should be a lot of OEM/Aftermarket accessories to pimp it out!
-- Insurance on 1 car < 2 cars
-- green friendly to offset other vehicle impact (trying to go all EV but need some battery improvements for my Street Bike requirements)...that and make my wife feel less range anxiety and be able to replace her SUV
-- Charge with Tesla Solar (will get if we decide to stay in current house)
-- FSD at some point
-- Armageddon Ready

Lots of reasons to own one even if doesn't come with 100% of everything that was shown / mentioned / speculated throughout is development
Posts like this make it worthwhile to wade through all the crybaby posts.

And speaking of broken promises, and promises about to bbe broken, we need to look at General Motors, a company with much larger scale, more engineers and designers, more management teams, more factories, more test facilities, over a century of automobile manufacturing experience, and more advertising power. Shouldn't we hold GM to at least the same standards as a relatively new automaker startup when it comes to broken promises?

I won't go too far back in GM's history to dredge up all the hundreds of broken promises, but let's just look what they were telling us in early October of 2017, after the EV Bolt was on showroom floors:

GM announces serious electric car plan: 2 new EVs within 18 months, 20 within 5 years | Electrek

Where were the two new all-electric EV's GM promised by February 2019? Nowhere to be seen.

And where are the 20 new EV's promised 3 1/2 years later?

In comparison, Tesla is growing overall EV production at over 50% per year, ever since since they reiterated that goal years ago and, in 2105 Musk predicted they would make half a million cars in 2020, a figure that they exceeded by about 9,000 cars, right on schedule five years later.

"I do remain confident about half a million cars in 2020, and maybe being able to exceed that," Musk said on a conference call with investors last week, after an analyst asked whether he still stood behind the forecast. "That's five years from now". Aug 10, 2015

This wider perspective informs just how small-minded it is to focus on details like whether the Cybertruck will have door handles, as originally envisioned, or storage in the sail pillars or not. Really inconsequential things in the larger picture if one understands we were looking at a proof-of-concept vehicle in late 2019, not a production ready vehicle.

These people ask us to believe that the Cybertruck would be a better vehicle if only Tesla didn't change any known specs or features, including the addition of rear wheel steering to increase nimbleness in tight spaces and provide better stability for higher speed maneuvers. That they should have locked everything down and ignored any learnings between then and now.

I'm confident the 2023 Cybertruck is a much better truck than any possible 2021 Cybertruck could have been.

Dog Mode is the only way to go when you leave the car. I am not sure what the best thing to do while moving is - for me the jury is still out. We still drive with the back seats down and the windows open just enough for the dog to get his head out. Losing a dog the way you describe makes me tear up.
It was completely horrible, John. Protect the babies.

I’m curious: what’s your use case?

I just don’t see a lot of utility in the ramp.

Seems like one of those things that *sounds* useful on first impression, but soon enough is ignored.
For my mom’s electric wheel chair

You wanted door handles?!

Here we go with the pricing conjecture again

5 seat is a legit one

Proportions were a promise?

Front light bar might be a legit one

Sail pillar storage is most certainly one

No promises were made about the frunk that I recall

They just built the wade pit so we will see about floating.

I counted 3 things that might actually be considered broken promises.
You forgot the tailgate ramp.

* Drivers display
* Mid-gate
* bed usablity
Driver’s display was never a thing. It was never announced with it and the only time we saw it was in a prototype and Tesla never said “Oh look, it’ll come with this display”. They also never highlighted that feature. People just sneakily took photos of a prototype that had it.

Midgate was never a thing.

Bed usability I do get, as it seems the bed width and length have shrunk.

score one, limited, point for @Gurule92:)

deduct two, full, points for @Gurule92 putting a dog in bed of a truck:cry:
This! I don’t know what caring owner would put their dog in the bed of a truck. If they crash the pup is at greater danger being on the bed. There’s also the possibility of the dog getting loose of its restraints and jumping off the bed.

I'm assuming you don't have a dirt bike or other off-road variant that will fit in the bed.
For many this is at least 1x per week.

I will use it for loading equipment, compressor, and other things. I might even put a winch inside the bed at the cabin wall to winch things up and into the bed.
