I'm leaning toward there being a powered rear window for airflow purposes into the vault. As you said, it's a short vertical piece of glass, so it doesn't need much space below to allow it to drop 8-10 inches. Time will tell.
Would've definitely been *possible* to do, but...

*wink wink - nudge nudge*

I'm only trying to confirm for you that time has told, and it doesn't. Of that I'm 100% certain.

Understanding you need not choose to believe me.

No biggie.

All windows open, given sufficient torque

Have we already seen pictures of the new video display built into the center console for the backseat HVAC controls, and stuff?
The back seat is a myth. Cybertruck will be a 2-seater with 12-foot bed and 900 miles of range.

Along with your post and location I think I'm starting to catch on. Sometimes I'm a bit slow. ;)
the good news is, it'll ultimately prove to have been the right cost-benefit choice

the window is too small to pass much of anything through (least of all a human), passing 2x4s through for hauling is not wise (and sort of anti-safety of Tesla)

and for the vault to have gotten any meaningful HVAC, it would require vents in the vault itself - passive cooling/heating from the cab, to an equally sized space, through that small window, would have extremely disappointing results. certainly not results Tesla would advertise as a feature.

at the end of the day, although I *really* wanted to finally have a pickup with a roll down rear window, the juice probably wasnt worth the sqeeze

Yep, all concerns I'd thought of. I've never been a fan of midgates or wide roll-up/down windows due to their tendency to rattle and squeak. That's the reason I'm not a fan of the falcon wing doors on the Model X as well. They're practical af far as getting up and out of the way for ease of entry, but they do squeak and rattle when driving over rough roads. All the extra moving parts mean more future maintenance as well.

Speaking of which, here's a comparison of Beta and RC front row. No substantial changes, tambour sliding cover appears to have been removed from the center armrest to cut down on cost, among a few other minor things.

So the white upper of the door card is no longer(?) I hope it does appear as an option, at least.

if THAT'S the motivation, let me just shout:

THERE IS NO MIDGATE OR REAR ROLL-DOWN REAR WINDOW - ZERO ACCESS TO VAULT FROM CABIN!!!!
Well there goes the 'fireside' view from the bed/vault. No more 'Fireside_Chat_GPT4/5...'

This appears to be a Cybertruck that was involved in a highway accident, and not a crash test. Especially since it was not a direct straight head on collision. They used duck tape to hide what they didn’t want inquiring eyes to see. They should have shrink wrapped both vehicles, that would have kept them totally private…

were these nose coverings there to hide duct tape holding down the hood??

found video above, where lead unit’s bra has ripped off, revealing duct tape applied in a manner that *seems* intended to fasten down the hood

looked back at other shots of the CTs being transported with these bras, and noticed that there in some photos appears to be tape running in spots that don’t seem consistent with merely fastening the cling-wrap, eg
