Let me guess. You have a garage and intend to use it for the CT. You also have a fingerprint removal regimen that you will keep in the vehicle for regular use. And I bet you wash your current vehicle at least once a week.

My 2009 silverado gets rust proofed every year and I have applied paste wax to it every spring and fall for the last 14 years and there is no rust and the finish is like new

If Toyota puts out a EV Tacoma, I think everyone better look out.
it doesn’t need to tow 14,000lbs.
it doesn’t need to have a 3500lb payload.
all it needs is to be able to go to Home Depot and pick up 500-1000 lbs of stuff and go back home.
and if it gets 320 miles per charge then even my long range Model 3 is at risk

Toyota is! Remember their recent August 2023 announcement of solid state battery charging in 10 minutes for a 800 mile range. Or was it 1,000 mile range in 5 minutes...? Toyota made this announcement in 2016, 2018, 2020, 2023.....

You forgot the most important part of a theoretical Tacoma EV:

The price.

Toyota cannot make one with the specs you mentioned for under $100,000 without selling it at a loss. Which is why they are not making one yet and won't for a long time.

It seems everyone just assumes the big legacy automakers can match what Tesla is doing in terms of price (and make enough of them to matter). They can't. Not now and not for the foreseeable future.

Don't you get it? Tesla is making fun of all the superfluous styling flourishes on their competitors work trucks. They are pointing out how they are really "girly" trucks, like a fancy foo-foo hat pretending to be a peacock in mating season.

Cybertruck represents pure unadulterated lust. It doesn't need foo-foo touches to look good. Like a classic martini with an olive (BAW) plopped in there. How do you take your cocktails?

it looks like this is the same truck that was driving on 85 in Saratoga about a week ago which has a camo wrap. the license plates match up with this new wrap.

makes me wonder if they’re just re-wrapping the same car over and over again. or if they’re just moving the same dealer plate over to different cars.
