False interpretation. You can see there is a different lens focal length at play here from the far side windows alone.

If anything, the curvature of the front nose panel is a bit greater on the late beta and RC builds.
I don't see that. One is taken from a slightly farther to the left position as can be seen by staring at the B-pillar.

Clearly the shortening of the overall truck length removed space from the frunk.
I look from the horizontal front corner joint.

A friend in high school had a Porsche 914, and his girlfriend called it a frunk. I graduated HS in 1980.

For what it's worth, the 914 front trunk was really big for the size of the car.
Saying the front trunk of the Porsche 914 was really big for the size of the car is just another way of saying the rest of the car had minimal non-existent storage space!
The Cybertruck frunk is like a grand ballroom, in comparison.

However, the 914's center console cushion doubled as a third seat, it even had a seatbelt. You might fit a skinny 8-year-old on the center cushion. I would have said you could fit a little coke whore in the middle, but that would be in poor taste! ?

I’m not a manufacturing guru or have any experience in it but hopefully this weather stripping will be one piece, being right over that wiper motor it will definitely cause issues down the road I would think. (no matter how great the liner in the frunk is)
No, the weatherstripping will be in two pieces. Because everyone knows it's cheaper to install two short peices vs. one continuous piece!

/sarcasm

I'm always amazed at how little faith people have and the things they worry about.

anyone else kind of upset that theres no drive cluster in front of the steering wheel like one of the earlier leaks in the year?
I think you mean "instrument cluster". The dumbest place to put information you need to see is behind a steering wheel. Unless maybe the steering wheel is a yoke. Even then the yoke will block visibility until the wheels are pointing straight ahead.

It made sense, back in the day, to put a speedometer and fuel gauge behind the steering wheel because old-fashioned steering wheels had a huge diameter, and the rim was very thin. Now that steering wheels can be much smaller due to power assist, and the rims are much thicker for more comfort and grip, the visibility through the wheel is greatly reduced, it's a dumb place to put a cluster of instruments.

I figured this out five years ago while driving my wifes Model 3 home from the delivery center. For the first time I could adjust the steering wheel where it was the most comfortable, instead of putting it where the instruments dictated. No more sore shoulders or peering through a steering wheel to try to see my speed.

I've never really had an opinion one way or another when it came to the frunk on any vehicle. Unless it can carry junk my wife finds on Nextdoor, it doesn't matter. My biggest appeal for the cybertruck was that it was designed from the ground up to be an EV and it was a truck. Am i going to use it as a work truck? Nope. Am I going rock crawling? nope. I'll use it to pick up that occasional king size bed I didn't know we needed or to go on an impromptu picnic down a dirt road in the mountains. In my mind, cybertruck is a truck. end of story. it has a bed to haul crap. I could care less about the frunk as i have gone 30 years without one and I do just fine. I just need the bed to haul junk that will undoubtedly be replaced in 6 months.
I can't wait to see the first mattress strapped to the roof of the cyber truck driving down the highway being held down with cheap rope, and the superman hand grip out the window!

it’ll hold plenty of back-pack / grocery bag shaped things.

trust me, probably more than anyone here I’ve been interested in understanding and managing expectations of what the Frunk will/won’t be

it’ll be more or less half+ the volume of a Lightning (eg ~9+\- vs 14 cubic feet), and obviously differently shaped

D30932EA-D70C-4CC3-8AE3-5E8F51C959A8.jpeg

which in one hand means, yes, it’ll be different and smaller than the Lightning frunk

but on the other hand, that puts it in range of eg the Rivian Frunk, but designed far better and more useable in terms of access and loading / unloading

also, the CT’s width and shape relative to a Lightning means that for some applications it will be more useful - eg, the Lightning’s shape is such that no long gun would fit, while the CT’s shape means at least some shorter barreled rifles and shotguns will fit

if your electric truck needs turn entirely on the need for the largest Frunk volume on the market, then you’re stuck with a Lightning

if instead your electric truck needs are more multi-faceted, then one has to look at the rest of the feature list
where would it fit?

im so confused

how is there space? relating to the photo shared

Did they put the Horn back in the center of the wheel/yoke!!? ??
IMG_1534.jpeg

Kinda Looks like the horn symbol you find on your steering wheel.
Really am not onboard with the capacitive button on the side for the horn.
Apparently this is confirmed for the Model 3 refresh, that symbol is the horn symbol, so that adds confidence for me that they will do that for the Cybertruck as well!!

I am glad to see only two seats in front. I have always said that the three front seats won't work!
In a head-on collision, the center guy will have to have the screen surgically removed, or they will have to design it so that an airbag will pop out of the screen!

Electric brakes, no hydraulics
CT is supposed to use Brembo's new braking system, hydraulic with no master cylinder. Let me see if I can find the article or video. Its supposed to be superior and to standard brakes.

Your logic and experience are sound, but I hate twisting my head to look at the display just to find out how fast/slow I am driving, what time it is, what the temperature outside is. These things I really want right in front of me. I hate it when the steering wheel gets in the way of anything I need to see so I agree with you on that - I just wish Tesla would do something to make seeing some essential information easier.
