I worked in test a long time, and I would never try and judge the difference between 1mm and 3mm from that distance and angle.

My eyecrometer says its 1mm. Glass is roughly 3mm. 18-20 gauge steel.

Typically, the glass sheets are 2.5 mm thick each, and the PVB 0.38 mm, adding up to 5.38 mm.

I hope the glass is that thick. My eyecrometer says the sheet metal is 1/3rd the thickness of the glass. That would make the metal 1.8mm. I hope my eyecrometer isn't too far off.

I is hard to estimate from the photo. Two pennies stacked equals 3.04 mm.
