We have a large number of CCW owners in my area so vandalism is not common. Good solution is to protect your property and defend yourselves against others.

Do you really encounter acid attacks?
Who has the time and money to shop for, purchase acid, and plan random vandalism on other people's property?

That sounds like an expensive and time consuming hobby...
Even coal rolling requires modification of a vehicle and that requires intent. I am guessing that there are a lot of angry people out there (why they are angry at Tesla is beyond me - maybe they are union members) who 'take' the time to prepare their [social] vandalism and keying is one example that requires little preparation. Acid is another story altogether. I have never heard of it before.

I live in San Francisco, with no garage, and I am more worried about acid. I see it from time to time on windows and metal. That will be a real pain to buff out and over time will weaken the SS.
Actually, acid is used on stainless to reduce iron on the surface and thus increase chromium (passivation)

Remember, the F150 has been number 1 for 46 years (think it have it right)
The CT will cause some polarizing responses
Totally unjust, but….
And we all know the CT, if following the MY, is more American made/content than the F150

Bullshit. Guns aren't magic talisman.

Vandalism is done while no one is there, behind fences, in hidden places, not generally where there are people.

And acid will mostly just polish the stainless steel. A better attack would be an oxidizer or one in concert with a sulfuric attack to break the sulfur ions out.

I'll wager that areas with the worst vandalism have far more people carrying guns (legally or illegally) than areas with large numbers of CCW owners.

Do you really encounter acid attacks?
I haven't heard of any in the DFW area.

Who has the time and money to shop for, purchase acid, and plan random vandalism on other people's property?
I'm guessing unemployed thugs, and gangsters. They don't shop, they steal. They don't do a lot of planning.
And bored rich kids. They're bored so they have time. They use their daddy's and mommy's money to shop. They don't do a lot of planning, either.

That sounds like an expensive and time consuming hobby...
They're not spending (their own) money and have plenty of time.

how much that tungsten carbide coating would be? Any ideas?
Stick out your tungsten, and 'make a peace sign like you just don't care'
If you're with me and 30X in it's purest form. No extra $$$$.

Need to leave your bubble my friend, you are more likely to step in or drive over human ? than get acid attacked in 2023 San Francisco.

Deterrence works. Just look at the low theft rates in Middle Eastern countries. Let the vandals or thieves try some of that same crap over there (but they won't because they know better, and they value their hands). For decades and decades swift punishment keeping crime very low has proven that deterrence works.

If in a certain area someone knows they will be dealt with swiftly or on the spot, they'll likely attempt their crimes on another vehicle or in another area.

Sentry Mode is integral to deterrence too, because it is becoming more widely known that Teslas have cameras which result in perpetrators being much more likely to be identified and caught.

Repairs of deep scratches and gouges will be part of life whether they are intentional or accidental. I think the options of wrapping might be helpful for those situations with the advantage of being able to use light filler in gashes or deep scratches if necessary, and then rewrap the affected section or panel.

But I also think it's best to keep vehicles in a garage. If you're willing to go without a garage, then you're willing to take the risk.

Like I told the tesla technician when he came to service my M3, if a person can afford a tesla, they can probably afford a garage (which is a requirement to have your tesla home serviced in inclement weather).

Furthermore, raking over a foot of snow and ice off a large vehicle (truck) is a real pain in the winter so parking the CT in a garage is the way to go.

I don’t know about that BR. I think you have a VERY high risk of an acid* attack in San Francisco these days.

Sounds like you and your gang have the next "attack" all planned out. Thought I saw you and your peeps on the streets of SFC dragging around a couple of containers of chemicals. Lol. :ROFLMAO:

For me the bigger concern is that many people will decide that they *have to* find out for themselves whether or not the _glass_ is unbreakable or not since the idea was popularized during launch event...
