This is all typical stuff for automakers. Those who are savvy know that to get a really good deal, you wait until the last week of the year to buy a vehicle. If any of you want to get the biggest bang for your buck, buy your next Tesla (or any car) right at the end of the year.

Case in point…my son wanted an EV. I told him wait… so a few days ago, we went into a Ford dealership and negotiated a Ford Lightening Flash for $27k off MSRP. He additionally got 0% financing for 72 months. Even Ford corporate marketing told me we stole that truck. The finance person said they never saw a Lightening go out that cheap. The magic is, end of year when dealerships are trying to make room for new inventory.

I have done this trick for years. So Tesla is not doing anything outside of the norm here.

I have to admit that it burns me a little. When I was picking up my truck in March, Tesla would have allowed me to trade in my Model S and transfer the free super charging to any vehicle except the truck.
I asked a number of times in the week leading up to picking up the truck.

Now someone who didn’t take the risk of early delivery and the joys of already having my truck in service for over 2 months out of the almost 9 months since purchase, can get what I was asking for and they don’t even have to trade in a car.

That stings a bit.

I do still really like the truck, but for me and my use case, if Tesla would have told me that if I would be willing to wait for 9 months and they would give me free lifetime supercharging, I would have likely waited.

For me, the free supercharging on my Model S over the past six years was worth at least $15k in charging fees, conservatively.
I would have waited also
Read the fine print! It does not come with the voucher. I may spend $50 a year on super charging, but am very happy with the Powershare. Those saying it's not fair should read the entire promotion first before complaining.
ill give them back the $2500 in power share for free supercharging To me to offer free supercharging after a year of sales of CTs is an insult. If you want to give away more gear give away gear but to offer Free SC for your ownership is way more valuable to a persons who is going to travel than a couple of plastic storage boxes for the vault.

I decided to buy the CT on 2019 , just recently had to move into an apartment. I think I could stay here about 2-4 years till getting into a house again. In this case, free supercharging cost could equal to around $4K gas expense (since supercharger may be quiet close to gas pricing) per year. If fsd is factored for a non foundation , then the 3-4 grand different for the 20k FS package would get converted by the AT tires.
Based on my personal situation, this math could make sense and actually make it worth it bc I would spend roughly the same with a non Fs

I get what you're saying. However, there is one yellow flag to the free Supercharging offer:
Tesla reserves the right in its sole discretion to remove the free Supercharging from your vehicle in the event of excessive charging or unpaid fees related to Supercharging.
What exactly is "excessive charging"? I don't know, maybe nobody outside of Tesla knows either. If you always rely on free supercharging, and never charge at home, could Tesla perceive that as "excessive"?

Forgot where I read it, but this is in the agreement to prevent Uber drivers and such that drive for a living from taking advantage of this.

Excess charging is when you use your vehicle for daily driving. Supercharging is expected to be for long distance road trips. They can tell when you charge at a local supercharger so often it is determined to not be a road trip. I’m fine with that. I have to charge twice to get to our cottage in Ontario from Cleveland OH. If I go to on a National park trip across the ISA I would save $$$$ over having to pay. Hey I already paid the Foundation Fee. I could use my Power Share because installation was 3x what Tesla said it should be. I had to use my voucher before it expired on no essential “gear” I would never purchase. I choose FSC and will give back my $2500 voucher dollars

Just hang up with Tesla.
they said u could get into trouble if

1) u consistently charge 100%
2) about unpaid fees is referred to if u idle and leave the car connected when finished and u keep the station busy after being done. U ll be charged for the extra time there.

That's explicitly covered by another clause in the free Supercharging offer:
... business orders and vehicles used for commercial purposes (like taxi, rideshare and delivery services) are excluded from this promotion.
The "excessive charging" rule appears to apply to all drivers, not just those using their vehicles for business.

That would make sense: then the offer is really "free Supercharging when you are a long way from home". But in that case, it isn't the answer for those who live in apartments and can't charge at home.

I wanted the free year of super charging instead of the voucher because at the time I was living in a condo with no charging. The said that offer ended and gave me the $2500 credit. Before this truck I envied those with free supercharging for life. Maybe one day.

Honestly it's not a good deal. Given all the problems that continue with FS Cybertrucks, they'll have lower resale value than unbadged Cybertrucks. I just sold my Cybertruck I took delivery of back in late April. The new owner is mad because it just bricked with an update. Expensive lesson but I won't be an early adopter of any vehicle again.
Start a petition for all of us early FS owners to get lifetime supercharging?
I wouldn't bother. You got what you ordered, even if a bit more problematic than most of us expected. Musk is way too busy removing badges and censoring Conservative MAGA politicians on X. Tesla is truly an afterthought for him lately.

Sorry, but the newest 2024 Foundation Series incentive is not going to help move leftover trucks.

Once 2025 hits next week potential buyers will be hesitant to spend $100k on a leftover 2024 model that was assembled months ago and collecting dust on the back lot of a SC.
