Does anyone have any idea on what we should expect to pay for insurance annually on the Cybertruck!? Average person with a good driving record…

Assume it will be the same as a similarly priced F150 or Silverado. Until they have better data, insurance companies will assume an average loss rate and cost of repair so as not to push customers into the arms of Tesla insurance or other competitors. By ~Jan 2025 it will adjust to a more vehicle-specific actuarial cost.

Whatever most of you pay, figure it’s 2x more in Los Angeles.

I think there's a thread re. Tesla offering its own insurance. Reduced rates available if you give them access to the vehicle's "black box." One problem has been slowly navigating between trash cans and vehicles parked on both sides of the road in suburban neighborhoods gets interpreted by the system as swerving while DUI.

Great question. I have read that the Model X is roughly double the premium of a Model Y.

I have a feeling that the repair costs of collision damage due to the stainless steel panels could be very, very VERY expensive. Partial panel repairs and filling/paint will not be options - it will require full panel replacement, which, depending on how they are joined, could be a major undertaking.

I think Elon will regret his stainless choice in retrospect, if not already. If I were him, I'd be also offering alternative materials (aluminum and/or regular steel) with a wrap as the mainstream option (a wrap over stainless doesn't solve the repairability issues).

Believe me when I tell you that stainless steel can be repaired. However, most "patch-n-paint" body shops will have no clue.

Spending $12k on a beta product in order to save money is hilariously backwards thinking
If FSD becomes truly autonomous, it will be worth a lot more than $12,000, depending upon how much longer the useful life of the vehicle is (FSD sticks with the individual vehicle).

The only reason FSD only costs $12K now is because it's a beta product, the value is in its completed state.
