That would be a huge misstep to include free Supercharging on any Cybertruck. Because people would then use the Cybertruck to charge their other EVs. It would be a free-for-all of greedy cheapskates, trying to get something for nothing.
My thought exactly. I would love free supercharging (I have it on my MX2019 and I really love it), but Cybertruck is the first Tesla product that can provide significant energy to other devices (industrial machines, other cars, it can even power your house), so it would be a terrible business. You could carry energy home from the Superchargers like you bring groceries in every few days.

However, for small amounts (like the Foundation series) it would not move any needle at Tesla's financials, so it would be definitely a fun perk.

Wouldn't move the needle? Remember, they got rid of lifetime connectivity for most vehicles. Foundation did at least get that.

~1-2k trucks probably would not matter in the fleet of ~5M cars. If they came up with some software solution to avoid "energy grocery shopping", I think it would be work.

I’m having second thoughts on FS Cyberbeast. Free lifetime charging would definitely convince me to place my order.

Superchargers are for long-distance travel, not a convenient freebee for a few.
You fail to realize that MANY Tesla owners do not have access to a home charger, so they HAVE to charge at a public charger. Would you have them use EVgo stations. . .?

This was Tesla’s response when I asked about transferring my free supercharging from my Model S.
The program for Transfer of free supercharging from a car you own to a NEW S, X, or Y. A CT is not eligible. What would you expect -- special treatment for you?

"Level 2" is a great alternative. Some are free. Your battery will thank you with 11 kW power input. YMMV

I agree come on Telsa give us cybertruck freaky loyalists free supercharging . We speak only highly of Tesla despite having our Cybertrucks spend days in the shop fixing new release issues .

You now giving it to the fence sitters .. Damn I wish I was fence sitter now .

Put some restrictions on it to stop abuse .

Come onnnn Tesla Lets do this .......

There is only 27185 of us Foundationers a small amount of free supercharging given your plans are to make 250 000 cybertrucks per year .

I have "free" supercharging on a 2017 Model S. It was included in Mid 2017 to move new inventory. A few months ago Tesla offered a discount on a new vehicle in trade for my 2017 Model S with "free" supercharging. It appears that Tesla would like to get rid of the existing "free" supercharging. Therefore, why would Tesla offer "free" Cybertruck supercharging with limited production coupled with a backlog of buyers?
If they had a backlog then sure, but they do not or they wouldn't be offering this perk to buy an FS CT.There are some good arguments for honoring people that waited for many years to get a CT, but we also got to drive our CTs for many months before others got to order them. I am kind of on the fence about this. I am happy that I have my truck, and we 'have' been Tesla's guinea pigs, but we also bought the trucks at the price point that Tesla offered them at. Do we really have any grounds for whining, now, knowing that this kind of thing is always done by OEMs to boost sales?

Personally, I think there's no ground for whining about not having free supercharging on our trucks. Unless you had your head in the sand, we all knew we were paying a premium to be among the first to get their truck. It was perfectly clear what were were getting in our purchase agreement and as consumers, we could have collectively taken a stand that the cost vs. features of the Foundation Series were unacceptable and Tesla would have needed to start moving discount levers more quickly. Instead, the people chomping at the bit to get their truck (me included) slapped down the premium to get it now.

Instead, Tesla has already achieved profitability on the Cybertruck and the stock (due to multiple factors) has more than doubled since I took delivery, worth many times what Supercharging would be to me. Would I have liked free charging? Sure. I obviously wanted my truck enough to buy it without it.

I don’t believe the free supercharging feature costs the company very much. One strong reason: When you trade in a model WITH free supercharging feature, Tesla themselves DO NOT give you any additional credit for turning it in/turning it off.

That would give it a value, and they don't want it to seem like something that can be bought.
