How dumb. Tesla is really going downhill.
In a way it is a good idea but only if you can get it out/in when you need to, and if it’s functionality outside the CT is available.

Might be true but man are some people gonna drop out of their reservations. I predict 30% MAX
30% is normal. You really think this is normal?

I did the same thing. They pulled this before where they prioritized people that placed new orders so let’s see. I wonder why FSD was not an option?
Maybe it's included ... kidding but for the price they should ?

I find it legimately head scratching how many people are shocked and disappointed by the numbers revealed today. Did you all truly not expect substantial increases relative to 2019? Really?
Really

did anyone notice how the presentation today didn’t talk about AP or FSD?
I am hoping they say it’s included. It would be their smartest move. Maybe that’s the card they are holding to see what the public reaction is. If it gets bad they can just say pricing includes FSD. They literally have nothing to lose.

You guys are over thinking this. They will thicken the existing battery. It’s only about 4”. Probably put it under the front row of seats. It’s not going in the vault
huh?

I mean, the one they’re selling does go in the vault

and meanwhile, you cannot double stack the pack in the CT

need proof? See range extender going in bed (and Rivian’s under the rear seat)

they can’t include it until it’s working and available in the CT

you didn’t hear about AP/FSD today, or see it on the website, because it’s not available for the CT

you aren’t going to be able to just take it in and out
I would much rather see it bolt under the truck with some skid plates and reduce that 17” clearance by 4”. Really if they designed it right, a homeowner could probably use some kind of specialized Jack to roll it under the truck and clamp it under there then unclamp it and roll it in the garage for later

Initially, the Dual was supposed to $50K at release 2021. Two years late, 2023, the price is now $80K, an increase of 60%. Cannot blame inflation for 60% increase.
Steel prices are almost back to 2020 prices. Not much inflation there.
