i am curious about it, but the "extender" bit seems like something i could buy anytime.. like after getting my tax discount :p
What exactly is a “range extender” and can it be added after you take delivery to keep the price below the Federal tax credit/rebate??? Do you think it’s an extra physical battery or just a software add on?

It appears to be a separate battery pack that takes up bed space.

I would venture to guess $10,990 for the option.

I ordered again today. I will get the AWD Dual Motor 340 Mile Range ASAP meaning sometime in 2024. I don't care which reservation hits first as long as it's in 2024 ... I'm in.
what makes you think you’re getting it in 2024?

These are the prices with the gas savings. Add about $10K to the first two models and $3,600 to the tri motor.

Well, well, well. What did I say? I was wrong about them dropping the single motor variant, as it comes out in 2025, but I was almost spot on predicting that the dual motor would be just under $80K to qualify for the tax credit and around $100K for the tri-motor (aka the halo vehicle).

I did not want to be right about this, but the reality is the CyberTruck was announced 4 years ago. Before the pandemic, before supply chain issues, before inflation, and with the hopes that the 4680 battery would be energy dense enough to yield a 500-mile-range battery (the “Cyber Cell” is 10% more energy dense than the original 4680).

Tesla will keep moving forward. They’ll experiment with different battery chemistries and develop electric motors without rare earth minerals. Tesla engineers never stop innovating or iterating. It’s what they do and what makes Tesla such a unique company. They aren’t beholden to a board or investors, and their Techno King is a tech savvy engineer himself who will not bow to anyone until they’ve converted the world to sustainable transportation and energy (His social media activities are in dire need of a handler though.)

Looking forward to seeing the CyberTruck on the roads and in real life. ✌

It's harsh reality but a of things actually cost twice what they did 4 years ago, like hamburger and steak, so whichever cut of Cybertruck you were hoping to buy, it's no worse. Like at the grocery store, you can go downscale or wait for sale prices, which with Tesla, you know will be coming eventually, they left themselves plenty of room for them.
Cybertruck is not 4 years late only about 2 years late and 60% price hike is way too much.

Price point is increased but when you look at 1/2 ton pricing for the first level leather interior trimed trucks...its not much more...

f150 lariet gas is 65k w
lightning lariet is 78k
Ram Larime is 60k
Silverardo 1500 LTZ is 60K

so asking 72.5k for cyber truck really isnt that much over those trucks. If you wanted to compare the with air ride and other luxrury options those half tons are the at least as much as CT or more and you still have to pay for gas or diesel.

Yes its more than orignally but based on current market its right in the middle of the pack
your math is a bit screwy there

those other trucks ALSO get the tax rebate

$73k for AWD R1T with the upcoming 270 mile battery pack.

I do understand the battery ranges are not equal however. Add $6k to an R1T for a comparable battery range for $79k.

I warned everyone that revised Cybertruck pricing would see a huge price increase. Your paying for inflation over 4-years and the high technology.

The AWD at $68,890 undercuts the Rivian R1T DM by around $4k. Not bad in my book.

Here are my opinions on pricing:

-RWD at $48,890: Great value for a BEV truck
-AWD at $68,890: Good value and priced competitively
-CyberBeast at $96,390: At nearly $100k it‘s in a league of its own

As usual it’s all about the marketing. Want to step up from a lowly RWD to an AWD? That will be a $20k please.

Step up from an AWD to a Cyberbeast? That‘s a crazy $30k price increase.

I think Dual and Tri reservation holders are the most disappointed. DM buyers saw a price increase $20k. Tri motor buyers saw a price increase of nearly $30k.

Don‘t forget that these are BASE prices without the destination fee or tasty options.

Those are not the real prices. You’ve got the gas savings estimate pricing.
I don't see anything about self-Driving price's or whether we would retain the $7000.00 price if we signed up early?
Good point. They should at least honor that since the prices went up considerably.
