Sounds like you don't need to be here anymore. Good day sir.So I'll just keep my two 20 plus year old trucks that have lower ownership costs over Thier entire lives to date and get work done
I am a fan boy and a truck owner and my truck is 15 years old.Yeah I'm a truck owner not a fan boy
Avalanche isn't a truck!Yeah I'm a truck owner not a fan boy
Haha true!Avalanche isn't a truck!![]()
Technically it's a Suburban with the top lopped off, but I agree with Walter, it was the most utilitarian vehicle I've ever owned. Taking the midgate out and hauling full 4x8 sheets with the tailgate up was special (but windy).Avalanche isn't a truck!![]()
Not true see my other post.... or interview below. Yay!Same charging speed as other Teslas, 250 kw max.

I don’t understand what people were expecting. They literally raised the price the exact amount of inflation. People act like the pandemic didn’t happen right after the announcement.
** weight. ** And EVs have lower ownership costs over their life. That still have overall lower ownership costs when compared to this paper wait
there's not much else out there, and the CT is the superior vehicle by specs, competitively priced.Dude first needs to re-learn elementary school math; after getting at least B+, go ahead and pick up econ 101.
"They literally raised the price the exact amount of inflation"
Inflation is a ratio. Price is an amount. You cannnot raise the price the exact amount of inflation. Maybe possible in blackhoe but Cannot be done in this universe.
Now that you kinda got the concept of ratio, let's actually look at the prices:
increased 53% for single motor, 60% for Dual and 43% for Tri, respectively when comared to the 2019 originals, which are premises for value proposition with a prototype physically presented and driven. NOT an empty promise!
Inflation, as bad as everyone is complaning about, is an annual concept. The annual inflation rate for the United States was 3.2% for the 12 months ended October, compared to 3.7% previously, according to Labor Dept data published on Nov. 14, 2023. The next update comes out on Dec. 12 at 8:30 a.m. ET, which will tell the rate for the 12 months ended November 2023.
The preivous ratios are:
2020: 1.4%
2021: 7%
2022: 6.5%
Let's say Biden adminitration is full of crap so we double all the rates abve. What do you get?
The supply chain cost spike has eased off to 2019 level. Material inflation is not the cause here; it should help Tesla, if any.
When I see the Tri @ 100K, I also see the range of 320. You first get screwed with Elon hacking the range by 180 miles, or 36% shrink (at this point the price should shrink accordingly, but NO it did not), then get screwed again by paying 43% more (at this point the spec should at least stay the same, but NO it did not).
All the techs and engineering efforts are amazing bu they are irrelevant when evaluating the value proposition, which failed miserably. You can throw in wonderful techologies into the truck and make it the best of the world. Ferrai is the best but it sells a fraction of Porsches. A product matrix is multi-dimensional. There are X, Y, and Z axles.
We know that Tesla knows; and Tesla is knowingly let the early adopters subsidizing the high cost, low volume curve until cost comes down and volume goes up. These people will pay regardless, just not not the targeted mass anymore. There should be enough of these people for 2 years. I would still be interested in the Tri if it's 500mi but it's not. Not that I need that 500mi; I just don't like paying for a value non existent. Sub 3.0 sec is cool. But cool doesn't last more than a week.
The question we should ask is, what happened? 4 years later, from 500mi to 320mi, just to stand competitive to Rivian, lighting and maybe Silverado? Where's the battery progress? Where is the cost reduction contribution of all the new techs, manufacuring process revolutions? Aren't you supposed to lead, to wipe out, to leave them in the dust?
Bullet proof ? Stainless steel? Me no ganster no hollywood trust fund baby, no rapper. Nice to have but how many other than those, will be willing to pay 40% more?
Range extender to take up 1/3 of the bed, seriously, WTF Elon!
If they can strap 500mi easily under the truck, why didn't they do it already? Too expensive? too heavy? doesn't fit? not enough capacity?
Last night, google search of Rivian, lighting and Chey EV went up astronomically.
2019: eyes on CT. Nothing else even comes close. No brainer buy.
2023: It's been 4 years. Tesla must have made huge improvements and at least it will deliver as promised + understandable price increase.
Today: Let's compare and see what else is out there!
