Isn't it just the, available to order part? Couldn't you wait and get the all-wheel drive version and the tax credit and then add the other options if and when you wanted them?

Well I don’t qualify for the tax credit so that’s a moot point for me. Also, I didn’t lock in the FSD (my bad…) at launch so I guess at this point it really is the available to order part.

Also, after some hard life lessons I’ve learned to simply do the things that bring me joy. I feel like the CT will bring me joy so I got it when it became available.

No worries man! I think it was a reasonable response to a strange situation. I’ve always appreciated your well thought out insights and comments on this MB even if I don’t always agree with them… ???

I had mine rescinded same as others in the 2nd tranche (evening Dec 15 the blue "Start Designing" button appeared in app/website, by 1pm Dec 16 the option was gone, just reverted back to normal reservation state). I never got an invite email.

I'm thinking the ones who had invites that didn't disappear from Dec 8 and could still order a week later may have also had an email invite?

But I agree, unless there are reports of more invites/buttons appearing for foundation series after Dec 15, then Foundation is done and normal orders are next.

Same here. Late night Friday I saw the alert in this forum to check my account in App or Tesla.com (no text/email/notification from Tesla about this?!). Found the “Configure” button in the account tab (I never go there in the app), but the Foundation order was $20k above what my wife and I agreed, and she was asleep. I decided to wait to discuss, headed out at 6am and chatted on the phone when she woke up, she wanted to sit down and review the numbers. We sat down at 3pm, she green-lighted the Foundation dual-motor, I opened the app and Poof, gone! ?

FWIW, I’m a first-minute RN# RN11274XXXX, multi-Tesla owner, early shareholder, longtime evangelist with numerous referrals, and live in Utah. I tow 19’ camper often, off into the mountains/dessert often plus long winter drives to kid ski races, had hoped for 500-mile and opting for the Range Extender pack, and I do want/will use the Powerhome connect devices.

I feel shocked and let down by the quick recission of the Foundation invite, hope Tesla will revisit/reoffer the invite. ??

That really sucks. Sounds like you had to work through pretty major decision and needed time.

My gut says that this is what will be expected moving forward. People will logon on Friday. Order if they can or expect it will disappear some short time later.

This solves two problems:

1. They won’t have to deal with the unknown. Right now they could’ve sent out thousands of emails for the Foundation editions in Texas and California, but how many of them have not responded? They have a high level of uncertainty with an email blast. Delivery issues, vacation, life events, delaying until non foundation…

2. IMHO they will retain higher customer satisfaction by eliminating the email. If you login on Friday, then you should be ready to order. If you didn’t login on Friday, then you’ll never know that you were given a chance to order.

Maybe next Friday you’ll get another shot?

I agree, seems only the second batch had some kind of time limit, probably will be the same moving forward. Maybe they can tell you have logged in and looked at it and that starts your clock or something?

FURTHER UPDATE DEC 21st:

Yesterday, it appears at least some/several of the people whose invitations ‘disappeared’ early, re-spring- on a Tuesday.

Unclear if all 12/20 ‘off-cycle’ (eg not on a Friday) invites were to people who had on 12/15 received (including received but didn’t see/notice) invites that disappeared shortly after, or if it was only some of those folks plus ‘new’ invites on a Tuesday, etc.

In either event, Tesla keeping people on their toes to put it mildly.
