The range on my 3 performance with custom rims and tires (wider in rear) is terrible, no where near the 300+ reported. I'm used to charging each night, so I'm very excited about the CT and also anxiously await a VIN.
Sounds like you may put custom rims and tires on your Cybertruck so you need to factor in that range hit as well!

I own quite a bit of $TSLA and am cheering for Tesla, however, it is disappointing to have reserved a 500 mile variant of the Cybertruck in November 2019, and now 4+ years later we find the best the brand new, super high tech Cybertruck can do is 254 miles from 100% to 0% in terms of range.
This is planned by Tesla MBAs. You do not want to cannibalize your other products like the X and S, or even the Y, if your new product is close at cost ($70k) and has fantastic range. Everyone will order it instead, but you can't ramp up to produce them so sales will be very low.

Eventually, the X line will probably get converted to CT and Tesla kills off the X. CT price will drop. Imagine if you ran Tesla, what would you have done? You can only sell a limited amount of CT on the 1st and 2nd year. You need people to keep buying your old products. This is what I would have done too. Sell Foundations in the 1st year or 8 months until production ramps up.

I almost canceled my order and purchased a Model S Plaid at $89k, but with FSD at $12k that is $101k. Still 19k cheaper than a Cyberbeast. Still can't make up my mind. If CT were $70k as announced, then there is no way I would ever buy any other Tesla except for Cybertrucks.

I do sometimes but there are many times like this Tuesday I did not stop once . Plus stopping to use restroom at a rest area takes 5 minutes or less . This would require finding a supercharger and stopping for 30 min plus . The 500 miles really was a main selling point to my needs . My state also does not have a ton of superchargers on route the main one is a 10 minute detour as well.
I think that my other post may have come out about the same time you were typing.

Finding a Supercharger is Super Easy. If you are routing to your destination, the car is already telling you, no finding necessary.

Yep, pee and charge is an easy and common thing for Tesla owners to do.

I'm in Georgia and I've driven a lot of SC in an EV. Your state has tons of Superchargers right off the Interstate. Om the Superchargers on I-85, they are all spitting distance to the Interstate. I-26, I-95 and the others seem really close. The only exception that I see is Spartanburg, which may be 12 minutes off of I-85, but 1 minute off of I-26.

Meaning the CT has a smaller battery and has been driven with AT tires.

My Lightning has an EPA range of 300 miles. It runs on AS tires and around 131 kw battery. I rarely drive to zero or charge to 100%. Real world I probably range from 230-260 miles.
Thanks, great data point.

lol you are close it is Pawleys island not Myrtle beach . The only supercharge I know of is on 77 in Columbia and I take 26 to Charleston.
I see 6 in the Columbia area and the one I was referring to is the one to the NE near Irmo.

It really has your name written all over it as being perfect for you. Last stop before the long ride to the office.

Take a look at the Supercharger map Supercharger | Tesla It's amazing how often it changes.

While probably too early in the AM to stop, if I remember correctly, there's a pretty awesome BBQ joint in Cayce, right near the southern charger.

I actually like the rubber hub caps, but I would swap out the tires for the all seasons when they are available. I don't have any use for ATs.

Oh yeah, from Pawleys to Greenville, I'd never stop at Santee. But from Greenville to Santee that's probably where I'd stop to get some extra range once I hit the house.

Basic rule, go as far as possible on a charge so that you can charge when nearly empty. You never want to charge at 50%, takes to long.

Why do you have to be so insulting to people?
Because they're whining, making inaccurate statements.

You can be disappointed in the range of the truck without making these errors.

No one ever promised 500 miles at 70mph and 46F.

I don't even understand why you'd think that, and no, an ICE truck with that EPA range wouldn't do it, either.

And the charging curve is limited by it being a new vehicle - with a network not yet designed for it. Every complaint is admitting they don't know that Tesla vehicles - and the network - get better over time.

Or, hear me out, this site is full of cheerleaders like yourself who will make continued excuses for the current performance of the product.

The CT will work for ME.

I live in a state with a huge amount of truck owners.

A pretty low percentage of those owners would be satisfied with the current range capabilities of the CT for their use... especially since I live in a place that sees months of below freezing temps.

It's important to be realistic that the product won't meet the needs of many perspective customers who can afford it, because the supply of consumers who will pay $80K for one is limited.

Cool, I'll let Tesla know that you are ready to pick up your $150,000 truck.

Just had a data point posted in another thread.

The LR Lightning with All weather tires is indeed about the same as the Cybertruck with All terrain tires without the extended battery.

Pretty much happens to be the info that Ford publishes 2023 Ford F-150® Lightning® | Electric Truck | All Electric & All F-150

Silverado? Let's see what the final numbers are. Something tells me......

No, I don't have time to watch a video which is why I looked at the text that accompanied it.
