Why I don't feel Cybertruck is a work truck? It is more like a utility truck

I don't feel it is a work truck, cabin is squeezed, small trunk, truck bed is not as open as. It is more like a family utility truck.

I am not surprised by the price and expect it would go down when Tesla can make enough trucks though. It will depend on production and demand.

far too many tech advancements and features to be a pure work truck, but it also provides much more utilities and comfort than a work truck.

This will be a great work truck for the majority of people who use their trucks for work. With the bed it may not be ideal for stacking a lot of 4'x8' sheets. However, it won't limit many people who actually buy a truck for work.

The vast majority of pickup trucks are not used for work. They are used for commuting and shopping. 700,000 F150's were sold in 2023 and I doubt even 10% were bought with the intention of being a serious work truck that the Cybertruck couldn't do.

With all the talk on the forums it seems like everyone drives 400 miles every day, tows 11,000 lbs on a daily basis, and hauls 30 4'x8' plywood boards everywhere. If that is you, don't buy a Cybertruck. For the 95% of other people, it will work out just fine for us.

12 sheets of plywood is what Tesla has indicated.

Why wouldn't the Cybertruck be good for hauling 30 4'x8' sheets of plywood? Even if it were 1/2" sheathing plywood, it would be well within the payload capacity and be easy to load and secure.

Have you been listening to the Cybertruck naysayers who make up silly reasons why it can't do that well?

I had heard that Tesla had indicated 12 sheets. I'm not sure why. I'm not sure if it half-inch or 3/4.
I'm not sure if weight became an issue.

People would complain it would fit flush in the bed with overhang, so it won't be as easy as a standard truck. You could possibly do it, but it may be awkward.

I don't get this. It would fit "flush in the bed with overhang"? What does that mean and why would it be awkward? I've been using trucks for over 40 years to pickup construction materials and I don't see any awkwardness. The versatility of the Cybertrucks load attachment points are welcome. i've always wondered why trucks didn't have more convenient attachment points so users wouldn't have to get so creative.

I feel like a bunch of twenty-somethings, who have never loaded a truck in their lives, love to critique the hauling abilities of the Cybertruck without knowing the first thing about loading a truck. Cybertruck could easily load 30 sheets of plywood even though that would be an extremely unusual load. Generally, pickups are used for tools and odds and ends that are needed as the job progresses and the bulk materials are brought in on a flatbed truck or trailer. Cybertruck would be very good at towing that trailer, by the way.

People are just making shit up in an effort to throw shade on the Cybertruck. It's a very threatening product in the long-term and people are trying to start early by positioning it as "not a work truck" and hoping that characterization sticks in people's minds. They think if they say it enough times, it will become reality.

It can hold a lot more sheets than that, that's just the number of 1/2" sheets that will fit before the front wall of the bed starts to slope. That slope will not prevent more sheets from being loaded on top.
