Does this mean orders got pushed back for those of us that ordered when it said Jan-March? Or is this the updated timeline for new orders? I hope it means they improve the software or include AP and FSD functionality on the trucks rolling out. Maybe a mileage boost? I remember when I got one of the earlier M3’s and a month or two in I had an OTA update that extended the range and an optional speed boost. A guy can dream…

It's hard to say for sure, but in general, you should rely on the estimate provided when YOU booked your order, unless you are specifically provided new information/expectations from Tesla

I would bet money that it's the latter--an updated timeline for new orders. you probably already know, but it's how Tesla has always done things. and yeah I hope to goodness FSD and AP are ready by the time I get a vin. I also remember that M3 range update!

Usually they update timelines and those updates apply to new orders

Well they can't now say they are going to deliver it before you even ordered it, can they? They had to update it somehow... Dec - March. -- December ha ha ha

December hasn't been on there for a long time. Not sure what you're trying to say.

Last update was Feb to apr.

I think you may be a bit behind

Well since Tesla seems to give a 3-month delivery estimate window, and tomorrow is the last day of February, unless they are thinking they might deliver the truck to you tomorrow, would make more sense to take February off the table....

Yeah but they don't want to do that, because they want you to believe there's a chance you get it in very short order. Nobody on earth says "your estimated lead time is 0-12 weeks" when they know it's actually 9-12 weeks. Unless they are trying to get a few more orders from suckers who think they'll get a truck in that 0-9 week period that would never happen.

FWIW, I do think it has been showing Mar-May, but still zero people who order today are getting a truck in March, yet they will still show that as possible all of the way until March 15th or so.

I was joking a bit about the somewhat arbitrary way Tesla promises delivery, but anyway when I ordered it said Dec-Mar delivery. December is long gone, absolutely no word since then, and I'm still waiting for a vin... Tesla has a rich history of promising delivery dates that are aspirational - or so I've heard :)
