Gotta program it. Everything comes with a different priority.Good reasonable video. If the diff lockers mechanically work why would it be hard software wise to just have an on off selection with a warning if the car is going over a certain speed.
Yeah, but that's what active suspension is for. I wonder how far they'll be able to update it.I feel that this has more to do with Air Suspension being an issue offroad than anything else. On the obstacle he couldn't make it over....If you look at the 4 runner and Subaru, the wheels can more freely swing upwards and over the obstacle and keep traction on all wheels.
With the CT, it seems like the air suspension is so stiff that the entire truck lifts with the wheel on the obstacle, and that lifts the other wheels in the air and loses traction.
Heres a screenshot of what I mean. As you can see, if the front drivers side wheel was able to compress, it wouldnt force the CT upwards and hence the passenger front tire. The suspension is too stiff. Likely because it has to be to lift the truck with more air pressure to have more clearance. Catch 22....

They contain a bunch of instrumentation, though, kindof like the pitot tubes of an airplane. The cameras, charge port, tire sensors, and radio emitters seem to be in them.Wheel fairings (mudflaps tend to be behind the tire, not in front) are I think for aero, another mod opportunity for quick disconnects of them and maybe a test opportunity to see how much they impact range.
In this shot, the only tire spinning was the one not on the ground, the other 3 were on the ground, but not pushing the truck forward. This is either lockers, software or both.I feel that this has more to do with Air Suspension being an issue offroad than anything else. Just a thought ... I would guess it needs a lot of validation in all use (misuse) cases and road surfaces (read misuse - warranty damage).Good reasonable video. what does āoffroadā mode do, if not make it send power to all 4 wheels? This is either lockers, software or both.
⢠ripped off 3 of 4 mudflaps - then found Tesla recommends removing them before off-roading, but there arenāt instructions
