So I can’t just have my own electrician install it?

is this true even if you don’t have a powerwall/other battery to ‘stand’ between the solar and the house? If you have solar (as I do), it works in tandem so can extend to several days of backup.
Same here. Generac with auto transfer switch.Has anyone who has received and been approved for the gateway also have a gas backup generator? We have one on an automatic transfer switch. Hoping it’s possible to install the gateway as a second backup power option. From the diagram showing the solar and powerwall as a second option it would suggest that’s possible but hoping for confirmation. Really hoping for my survey soon, but in its absence will settle for info from someone ahead of me![]()
Nope.. They are currently only permitting Tesla Certified electricians do the work at this time. I don't know if the OP has any previous experience with the company doing the PowerShare install. So I can’t just have my own electrician install it?
This is true. The solaris this true even if you don’t have a powerwall/other battery to ‘stand’ between the solar and the house?
@SolarWizard I don’t know much, and that would surprise me if the solar can feed the house based solely on the CT battery being available.
Are there any systems like that for the Lightning?
if true that the CT alone can allow the solar to be used by the house, that would seem to be a feature of the Tesla system not offered by the Ford system
This is believed to be true by the installer over the phone.is this true even if you don’t have a powerwall/other battery to ‘stand’ between the solar and the house?

So Tesla is equating $2400 to 6 months of supercharging. ? Hardly seems fair.$1800 Gateway $600 Universal Wall Connector
And if you bought a Cyberbeast, add the $4,000 installation credit. They are giving 12 months of free supercharging for those that don’t qualify for install. So Tesla is equating $2400 to 6 months of supercharging. ? Hardly seems fair.
yeah, I wonder if they have a questionnaire that reads “do you even use a supercharger?”So Tesla is equating $2400 to 6 months of supercharging. ? Hardly seems fair.

OP has Tesla solar, no powerwalls, and reporting that install rep said that adding the Cybertruck kit will allow house to pull
