Do you know why you don’t get updates anymore? Is there a time limit on updates?
Tesla so far has not announced like a cell phone company that they won't provide software updates after a set time frame. One does have to do their part however. Receiving updates on a regular basis is now included in warranty info. Also a while back on some cars there have been mandatory push on some updates.

All could we please get back to the Cybertruck topic? 8 posts on someone's 2017 S and the MCU response time.

no idea but its been a year or two now and its a 2017 Model S Refresh running software 2022.08.10.16

so i guess 5 years give or take of updates before they stopped.
My Model 3 is still getting updates.

The older Model S had some hardware differences that were incompatible with most of the stuff today. But since 2018, most everything across the line tends to be compatible.

on the positive side, my 2017 model S that no longer gets updates might actually get an update once again :p
Just out of curiosity, have you tried forcing a software reinstall through service menu? Just a thought. Good luck!

I can't help but respond to things like "NHTSA narratives".

?

This is a result of nobody caring on the regulatory side to update language to fit modern vehicles.

Not the first time Tesla has played with font sizes and didn't consider official regulations and wide swath of their years (young to old eyes).
Kinda curious why tesla doesn’t have a font size slider in the settings like an iPhone. My parents have gigantic font on their phones so they can actually read what’s on the screen. Would something like that not help them while driving too?Screens are at a further distance than when holding a phone so maybe a bit better for them, but still imagine it’d be helpful at least for some people.

That being said, they manage just fine. Hopefully no one from NHTSA reads this and opens a whole new can of worms…

I have a 2017 MS and I still get over the air updates so I actually have one today, it’s all still free, charging, and info

Probably what broke the scan?
eh, unclear - really just being hopeful

as Scott said, the data brake seemed to effect only CTs, while this recall involved CTs but also other models

also, it was always a bit off for the existence of a recall to for some reason mean the VIN recall website would stop responding altogether to CT VINs (would be a weird way for it to work).

still really don’t know
