Just because it is announced, doesn't mean anything is going to happen this year. It may take forever for Ford to get these things out into the field.

There are chargers that can support wrong side charging.

The adaptor should come with a 6 foot extension cord.

Using an extension cord on a Supercharger is problematic. The attached cable uses active cooling, and measures temperature for safety. The extension would need to use a very large gauge, making it unwieldy, and could still overheat.

Will likely be a lot of angry Tesla owners if non-Tesla knuckleads take up two spots at a SC
Most Superchargers I've seen are 90% unoccupied. Could be problematic at peak times, tho

They won’t be knuckleheads, this is on Tesla for not making longer cords before taking govt $'s. Midwest ours are usually open, except large cities etc. The articles depicting the chaos will be everywhere lol.

Look at the location of @Thatch, SoCal.

That's a very different reality from Austin.

It's a real issue for them.

Those government $$ should have never been used for EVs that put their charge outlets in such weird places.
They did it just so people wouldn't accidentally put gas in it. ;)

Cord length is a BIG issue at those charge rates. Notice how big the V2 cord is compared to the V3 cord. Tesla implemented liquid cooling the cord just so it wouldn't have to make the cord any bigger. Longer means that it has to get even bigger again.

And even LESS cable would be used if the Lightning moved it's port to a better location.

Why force something on 100's of thousands of chargers when it is only a few 10's of thousands of bad one-time decisions that need to be fixed?

And some V4 pedestals are supposed to have longer cables. But there are still lots of V2 and V3 pedestals out there. And it's these existing pedestals that convinced Ford to switch to NACS.

Worse case. I'm hoping part of the arrangement for 2025 was that Tesla makes the companies put their port in the left-rear or right-front.

There are plenty that are busy and have wait times. Graphic below is a snapshot only. Tesla knows which ones. Wonder if they will open them in a particular order (ie. less busy ... to most busy to avoid the PR and possible 'conflicts').
