Exactly this! You never truly own a Tesla.
Of course you own it! When you take title to a Tesla you will own it under the exact terms you agreed to when you purchased it. And Tesla has no history of enforcing terms that don't exist.

Just use the vehicle for its intended purposes and you will have no problems.

So far they have cancelled my other reservations. No other word. Now we wait and see if they drop the hammer.

Haven’t even sold yet. Just listed it. Loss and Prevention flagged me and Store Leader reached out to let me know they cancelled my other reservations.

Updated with more info:

Correct. Took delivery. Had two more reservations. They cancelled those and refunded. Said if I ever try to place an order again it will not be refunded.

I have not sold anything. I listed it on multiple sites to feel it out.

Based on the wording I may be blacklisted. It’s unclear to me if that is for a new CT only or any Tesla.

I have mixed feelings about this, because there are some people that get into financial hardship, and they are looking this to be a golden ticket , for themselves.
I took delivery of my cyber truck three weeks ago, and I absolutely love my truck! I cannot even imagine selling it. I think if I get into a hardship financially, I would rent it out on Turo, or look for marketing opportunities with local businesses. My local beach bars absolutely Makes space for my truck. I’ve even had beach bands let their fans know that their cyber truck is out in the parking lot and people just come up to you and ask you questions. It’s just an absolute blast. I can’t imagine what it would be like to part with it , because it has been a Hella fun one! Thanks for sharing your experience, and I’m sorry that you now lost the opportunity to get any other pre-order vehicles, but at least you’ll be able to purchase them, once they are for sale. I doubt that they can stop you from purchasing one or you will always be able to purchase one used.

Getting out a financial hardship situation shouldn't involve a purchase just of about anything. Let alone a $100k truck.

All I’m saying is, if he just purchased it, and then he lost his job, and he can show that he lost his job or a significant loss of income, and he’s going to be in financial hardship, then he probably should’ve reached out to Tesla and seeing if he could get it approved or if Tesla would offer to buy the truck back

The flip side to that is Tesla is doing the same thing hiding it under a FS! Early reservation holders are being skipped because somebody else is willing to pay $20,000 more to have it sooner….. hmmmm
Truer words have never been spoken.

Yet we haven't seen any stories like that have we? Nor will we. I am sure Tesla could be very accommodating. They however are not going to pay one more. They could say yes. Sell it. We don't need or want to deal with it. If one doesn't go through the process of asking. It is kind of like doing something one knows is wrong, and asks to not get in trouble afterwords.

The blacklist and prevention of future orders was always a possibility and most likely thing Tesla could do.

But the main debate has been whether Tesla will actually sue to enforce the no-sale clause and seek to enforce the liquidated damages clause which so far the "internet lawyers" have been correct as Tesla hasn't done crap.

This is a perfect example of, “It's better to ask forgiveness than permission”…although based on Tesla’s response it appears it may not prove useful in this case, as Tesla proactively took initial steps just from OP’s apparent Intention to sell, with an incoming contractually-promised lawsuit upon subsequent sale. Yikes.

So someone walking by a Cybertruck could write down the VIN and then make fake sales posts online? BOOM Tesla retaliates against the innocent owner.

Hell you can just guess the VINs, they are standardized.

Yea.....pretty sure Tesla is a bit more advanced than that.

Does anyone actually read the agreement? lol

The agreement states that Tesla will buy it back within. the no-resale period, with a very minimal depreciation penalty based on age / mileage.

If you have financial hardship and can't afford it, you can basically just give it back and barely lose anything.
