Be careful with the Voucher - no sales tax

The current $2,500 credit is just another form of payment in the Tesla shop. Tax is charged and so far the two orders I've place have included FREE shipping. The spare tire is a service center "installed" item though, so I had to schedule an appointment to get that.

I am happy to report Tesla just made my day!!!!

Back in early August I had quickly scanned the voucher email, got the code and went to the Tesla store...so much was out of stock so I grabbed a few things and submitted.....only to then find out its a one time use so I lost $2,100 FML!

I reached out to Tesla and they made an exception and gave me a new voucher code for the $2,100 - I am over the moon about it! Wow!

Don't let excitement rush you so make sure you read the fine print. If you question how the voucher can be used, make sure you find out before you starting adding items etc.

SoCal here and I can see tax is being charged even when the voucher is applied as payment.
Just try adding anything to your cart to see.

Someone else figured this out and posted in other threads.

You can use the voucher to purchase Tesla gift cards (up to $500 each). Helps solve the out of stock issues and inability to use it all at once. That’s likely why they switched to store credits.

Just type gift card in the search field of the Shop Store.

Last I read is Tesla closed that loophole (add an actual item to your cart first, then gift cards) weeks ago?
