Cybertruck Delivery Hold Until April 23 -- Tesla Dealership Associate

Most likely the team in charge with coming up with a fix got laid off, and Tesla doesn’t have an incentive to deliver until the end of the quarter. No biggie! No need to rush. We will get it the last week of June. They will prioritize trucks coming off the line right now, then handling current owners trucks, and then they will work on our trucks.

My advisor told me that they don’t have room in storage to deliver new trucks (space constraint due to having so many on hold) which is why there is a build up outside of Gigafactory.

They will have to solve the issues with our trucks first… so we and everyone else after us will be delayed until there is a fix and it is implemented.

That is an interesting observation. I was at Fort Myers Tesla yesterday, where my Cybertruck is currently jailed. There was NO parking. Mostly Model Y and a few Cybertrucks. So maybe that is correct.

I was at the local dealership here in Southern California today trying to get some info on where my truck was. It did leave Texas but is now sitting in some temporary storage facility is San Diego during this delivery delay. I must have missed delivery by about 2 days i would guess.

The guy who helped me was very helpful and showed me all the info he could see- one bit of info he shared was the delivery delay is currently slated to run until April 23.

So at least now we have some idea of what timeline Tesla is talking about internally.

Fingers crossed this gets cleared up by then.

Not sure about the accuracy on this one but I did get a VIN assigned last night and a message from a Tesla advisor to proceed with insurance information.

Yeah, I had a delivery date and so paid the money. Then, the rug got pulled out. Funny, they waited until I had paid.

lol april-june? less than 50% of the "Jan-March" orders have been delivered.

I’ll bet there have been very few Jan config deliveries. Some places are still working on Dec. ?

I won’t say that. They make brilliant products (way better than legacy OEMs) but then they shoot themselves in the foot on minor things?‍

Having a brilliant product doesn't mean anything if I can't get it after paying for it.

Because I'm in NY and am taking delivery on an Indian Reservation where you cannot conduct monetary business, I had to pay all upfront and had to agree that I cannot refuse delivery. It was either that or drive 330 miles each way. NY sucks. So I paid, then they canceled. Awesome. Oh, and I have been carrying insurance on it for nearly 3 weeks and have to as they already registered it under my name and in NY it is illegal to have an uninsured car that is registered.

I would wait on the insurance until uou get a delivery date or you may end up like me and paying for insurance for weeks on a truck you don't have

I counted 10 at the Fort Lauderdale dealer yesterday on hold until further notice.

The people from December still waiting are either in small pop states or they ordered a cyberbeast Tri motor. The majority of people posting about Pickups lately have been January orders.
