I'm gonna give this till next Friday, at which point Tesla will have had my $$$ for 14 days. If anything else pops as a "delivery delayed" I think I will travel to Franklin, Tennessee, demand my CyberTruck, or go to jail for disorderly conduct. That is what Tesla's current actions and silence are creating emotionally in me. This is serious money without delivery of the purchased goods and no legitimate explanation for the delay. (A plastic throttle petal cover? Come on?) I've supported Elon for decades. I've supported this vehicle for 5 years as all of us have. lf there is something more to the story other than this throttle pedal cover tell me and maybe I'll understand? But, after talking to a Tesla sales person in Franklin, Tennessee where "MY" paid for and insured Cybertruck is sitting in a parking lot with 29 other customers trucks, I received no satisfactory explanation for the delay or realistic date I would be allowed to pick it up. It became pretty obvious the employee was clueless about the future status of delivery. This is a very poor look for the CyberTruck introduction. Maybe they should have spent more time giving it to real customers to drive in the beginning instead of making sure Influencers had one to shoot at. If it can be driven with bullet holes in it, I'm thinking alittle glue on the throttle cover would prove to be safer.

I’m being sarcastic. I’m probably the most pissed off person on this forum.
Nice, you got me going for aa sec, then I figured you had to be kidding. Good one. All we can do is suffer together.

Piss off. What, uou already have your or something?
I think you misunderstood my post, I was asking Anthony about his sarcastic post. Believe me I am not thrilled about being a day or two from delivery and having this hold kick in. So brutal.

Sorry. I'm a little trigger happy with all the glib posts from folks who have their trucks and tell the rest of us the delay is no big deal
My apologies

Having a brilliant product doesn't mean anything if I can't get it after paying for it.

Because I'm in NY and am taking delivery on an Indian Reservation where you cannot conduct monetary business, I had to pay all upfront and had to agree that I cannot refuse delivery. It was either that or drive 330 miles each way. NY sucks. So I paid, then they canceled. Awesome. Oh, and I have been carrying insurance on it for nearly 3 weeks and have to as they already registered it under my name and in NY it is illegal to have an uninsured car that is registered.
At this point, aren't you only a week away from potential lemon law? I know, we all want our trucks but Tesla's crap gets so old.

Yep. I am. I would be cool about it all with some real communication. You know, like adults. But tesla is acting like a punk start up company. 5 days in and no firm plan. Nothing.

Hate to really chime in here. But
If I were Tesla and this is really the accelerator problem that is showing up online.
My first priority would be to fix all of the trucks that are already delivered. and avoid any liability that may result from a crash…
Assuming the replacement part can only be partially fulfilled in the short term.
What amazes me is that they have not contacted owners to advise them to take some step to avoid the accelerator pedal getting stuck under the carpet.
I personally have only used the plaid system to pay for one (‘21 Plaid Model S) of the seven Tesla’s I have purchased over the years and it was a very unsatisfactory experience.
So I only pay with a cashiers check.
I understand that may not be possible for everybody, but I highly recommend it.

No, I'd say it's better to have a clear message, from the top, so everyone has the same information- staff, customers, delivery, service...everyone. How is keeping hush-hush a better strategy? It only invites rumor and speculation
What if they don't know a clear answer?

Then give my money back and get the truck registration out of my name so I can stop paying for insurance on it. They can't just keep people's 100k each without a plan

You are spouting crap. This is an easy issue that couldn’t have been felt with much easier. First how about some honest communication. Second how about an easy fix? Take the outer pedal off and deliver the trucks to customers. I would gladly come back when a new pedal arrived. What gets me is there is some 5000+ trucks running around with a crappy pedal. It’s pure BS.
How do you know that?

If it is glue, maybe the manufacturer changed the formulation of the glue recently.

Why not?

I'm sure that they will give you your money back. Just ask them to do this for you.

My advisor told me that they don’t have room in storage to deliver new trucks (space constraint due to having so many on hold) which is why there is a build up outside of Gigafactory.

They will have to solve the issues with our trucks first… so we and everyone else after us will be delayed until there is a fix and it is implemented.
That's true for a lot, but not necessarily all Delivery Centers. To compound the problem, there's a lot of Model Ys in the lot as well right now.

You didn't answer the question. You really think they're holding everyone's trucks just to hold onto your check a few days?

What day did you send in the payment?

-Crissa

PS, you can have your insurance company hold the effective date of your policy. At least, Progressive will do that for me.

Make it simpler, just go to the Sheriff's office and tell them to hold you for a few days.

There is NOTHING that the store is allowed to do. Even if they could do it, they aren't going to lose their job for you.
They will be happy to call an officer to help you.

And that is the point. A "CyberProtest" if you will. If a TikTok video showing a rubber cover popped off an accelerator pedal can cause Tesla to place a Nationwide Hold on CyberTruck deliveries I think a disgruntled "CyberTruck Owner" going to jail because the company won't give him his vehicle after being paid two weeks prior should probably be even more entertaining to watch? The power of social media cuts both ways.
