No delivery date yet. Will pay with certified bank check day of delivery. Got insurance $4k

I heard a few stories about reasons to travel to pick up the vehicle, but IMO it most likely for either situational convenience or they want their CTs faster and believe getting it delivered in CA or TX might accelerate VIN assignment and delivery timeline.

and getting it sooner is basically the only reason.

I got my VIN on 4 April, just got word from my service center in San Antonio, TX and they said mine is in transit. So hoping to have a deliver date tomorrow. VIN 61XX.

Unfortunately not. Just flew in from overseas yesterday to pick it up this week and fly back. Still no delivery date so I’m going to call again on Monday morning and see if I can’t get someone at the SC on the phone. Really hoping to pick it up by Tuesday. ?

got a message this evening from Tesla:

“I have been keeping an eye on your VIN and we received another update to let us know that we are expecting to get approval to deliver the Cybertruck by Friday, 4/26. If we receive another update noting we can deliver sooner we will reach out.

Thank you for your understanding and continued patience with this matter. I hope you have a great weekend.”

How do you all have a SA watching your order? I put in an order, contacted a SC and all I’ve gotten is an annoyed person.

How do you buy a car in the store? Do they actually have real paper that you can sign?
And sure, our stores have access to the delivery center's stock. There was probably 200 vehicles in the lot last weekend when I looked.
But you walk into the store, tell then that you see an inventory vehicle that you want. They walk you over to the computer, help you create an account and walk you through the ordering process.

A Dealer is a reseller. A Tesla Sore and Delivery Center aren't sellers or resellers. Just locations with people to help you out.

You may call them a dealer, but they aren't. Ask them.

Mine is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10:30AM in Irvine. Hoping and praying for a smooth delivery.. Car's been paid for since I got the VIN so I hope it's a quick pick up.
