I don't know anything about wraps. So ... how much is this deal actually worth? If I went to XPEL myself and asked them to wrap a Cybertruck, what would the approximate cost be?

I realize that Tesla is getting XPEL vouchers in volume, and that they are probably paying less than the normal retail cost. Just wondering what that retail cost might be. Not expecting an exact quote; ranges or estimates are fine.

Somebody went a little overboard making the FS trucks when the cheaper option was coming out. Seems like they should have just let that inventory run out first before they offered the cheaper truck.

i have contacted local XPEL certified installer to get more details on how this voucher works. If limited to XPEL clear coats and gloss black this is not useless to me. If the XPEL installer can use the voucher to install other brands than this has atleast $5K CAD value as i was going to wrap anyway.

Tesla has indicated that Cybertruck production capacity is over 125,000 units per year. That's more than 30,000 per quarter.

In 4Q 2024, they sold around 12,000 CTs. So the supply capacity is much higher than the actual demand. In that situation, it would not be difficult to err on the side of overproduction.

Seems like they should have just let that inventory run out first before they offered the cheaper truck.

It's possible that sales of the FS had dropped to a trickle by October 2024, when the non-FS was finally released. The FS customers were probably gone at that point, and everyone else was waiting for the non-FS. Tesla was pushing hard for sales in 4Q 2024, and they may have had no choice but to release the non-FS, if they wanted any CT sales at all.

This raises another question: OK, Tesla may have overproduced the FS in 2024 -- but did they also overproduce the non-FS in 2024? The FS has been getting the coolest incentives (was free supercharging, now free wraps), but at the same time, Tesla is offering discounts on 2024 non-FS. Here in California, it's pretty much impossible to find a 2024 Model Y or a 2024 Model 3, but there are still plenty of 2024 non-FS CTs.

I got that also the first time I requested them. Kept asking them over and over getting frustrated.

Then, I went and requested them from a different SC and they told me that they had plenty and went and picked up a set. So possibly maybe check out a different SC? Could be worth a shot.
