Anyone getting a ton of hate by owning a CT lately? [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

I am just like Cyberstocker. When people walk by either smiling or shaking their heads I invite them to come see it inside and out. I tell them the numerous things it can do and what you can do inside while charging it. I also let them sit in it and take their picture for them, especially the kids then I make it fart and everyone laughs.
I am however getting pretty fast with my middle finger and a big SMILE to the passersby who flip me off!
Loving every minute of it!

Really? You wouldn’t be happier if people just left you alone and minded their own business?

Well as a matter of fact, I get the one finger wave all the time, either from other drivers or just douche bags walking down the street. These are just some of the them. I have been run off the road twice, not sure what is up with the dodge 2500 truck drivers, one was in a black truck and the other was in a silver truck, one was in Vancouver, Wa and the other happened in Olympia. Both looked at me and just proceeded to push me off the road. Both looking and smiling at me. I do believe in karma, so at some point it will come back and bend them over and as we say in the USMC, they will get the big green Weinnie!!!!

I think the hate level has increased *dramatically* since Elon has become part of the daily news cycle in the mainstream media, especially in 'blue' areas. I'm in the Twin Cities in MN (pure blue) and now get lots of passive/agressive hate (middle fingers, thumbs down), but luckily no physical consequences (slashed tires, etc.) -- yet. I get this in our Cybertruck, but not in our Model Y -- which suggests that many people just don't (or can't) make the association between the relatively 'normal' looking Teslas and Elon. The relatively easily recognized CT just lends itself to that 'in your face' perception. Many of my fellow 'nice' Minnesotans also gave this treatment to Hummer owners in earlier times.

From a practical point of view, I'd love it if Elon/Tesla -- in recognition of his entry into the political fray -- would offer a special insurance package for the Cybertruck that covers any physical damage to the truck resulting from the folks out there that just can't help themselves from violating our basic Free Speech rules. Maybe also setting up a public wall of shame for these violators, based on the accumulating sentry cam footage that's out there.

I personally don't begrudge Elon his inalienable right to exercise his constitutional privileges and serve his country as he sees fit, but it inarguably makes driving a Tesla in public more complicated than it used to be. While this is a fact, I'm not about to settle for a lesser form of transportation. Plus, in the interests of full disclosure, I own a t-shirt that says "Don't bet against Elon."

I got like 3 middle fingers the first few days I had it, but just laughed everytime as it was always some pucker faced looking troll in like a 92 Carolla rustbox with the clear coat peeling off. I haven't had anything like that in a while now, but I'm also not looking for it. I have far more people that either love it or are just curious about it. The handful of idiots that live all their free time out in Reddit panic circle jerks except to run to the store to grab some more chips, and flip me off on the way, are pretty unimportant to me. And the rest of the world for that matter.

I have gotten more hate than love since New Year's. One Maine driver in a toyota sedan tried to run me off the highway a couple of days ago, but otherwise I just get the middle finger (sometimes two). Be safe!

I was working the ski shuttle loading people from their cars and taking them to the main entrance of the ski lodge.

On the ride over i was having a conversation with this nice old lady and somehow she started discussing Elon Musks antics, saying he’s a fascist and Nazi sympathizer.

We get to the gate and she points to my Cybertruck parked in the front line and says. “The a$$hole that drives that piece of sh$t truck should be shot!”
I snapped back that was my truck!

The blood from her face drained and i’ve never seen anyone turn so white in seconds..lol.

She gets off the shuttle without looking at me and says “you seem so nice” and walked off.

It was AWESOME!

So if your going to hate make sure you know who you are talking to!

As I Jeep Off Roader for years I am used to people walking up and wanting to talk Jeeps, so when they said CTs attract attention , nothing new me. I have been rather stunned at the crowd that just hates the CT. Its been anything from being flipped off, the Coal Stoking Fords trying to show off next to me, to thing captured on Sentry mode. Some just hilarious but other just seem to getting under their skin. By the looks of them, I am sure it Trump hating, now Muck hating crowd. Sad something owners really are happy with and doing something toward cleaner air would off that crowd so bad.

whats interesting is that Ct gets so much hate politically, but im so fascinated by its technology and how far they come along, theyr technology stack is just aligned with their hardware. more than other manufacturers who outsource their software. additionally, Ford having a record recall year, and GMC/Chevy trucks from 2020 - 2022, have the transmission recalls. its like so many other truck manufacturers have potentially fatal issues. https://www.gminsidenews.com/thread...ps-and-suvs-over-transmission-problem.309294/

I live in a rural area, so I've been flipped off (a lot), swerved at, plenty of thumbs down, things yelled out windows and from walkers. Good self identification for the idiots of society. But as others have noted, I've had far more positive interactions. You'll become an expert on your truck since you'll get asked 1000 questions about it. Kids love it, and surprisingly most women. Actually been shocked at how many elderly people have shown interest and asked lots of questions.

Received VERY LITTLE negativity after having this truck for almost 9 months now.
Best vehicle I've ever owned. (and I've owned MBx2, Porschex2, Volvo, Jeep, Dodge, Ford + Mercury, Toyota, etc...

Perhaps theres a level of inoculation that comes with having an American Flag (support troops blue strip) sticker on the back of my vehicle.

The ones that give hate always demonstrate their ignorance to me. My truck works more like a "biomarker" which reveals the stupid, jealous, or those who misunderstand.
