Mien does this too is that not normal? Lol
That means 151 have already failed. The paperwork calls out a 1% affected rate, so total that would have the failure eventually is estimated to be around 5k [500] ish. What I find most interesting about the official recall notice is that Tesla only identified 151 failures out of the 46,000 trucks they produced.
That says to me that the recall is completely voluntary, except for the fact that a failure could produce an unsafe highway condition.
All vehicles manufactured on or before Feb 27th. So if you didn't just take delivery, yours is included. They just accepted an appt for my 63xxx vin, so it goes at least that far.
When Tesla says the recall is 'voluntary' that's referring to them (Tesla is voluntarily recalling the CT vs being mandated by the NHTSA).Probably not since the recall is voluntary.
The fastening of the assembly to the truck isn't the issue, it that all those screws go into the carrier bracket and the stainless is glued to the bracket. They had to take these off to wrap around the edges when I got my CB PPF’ed….they put them back on and feel beyond solid so unless they fall off I’m not doing this….unless Tesla will give me the parts to have wrapped before placing them on and take responsibility to not ruin the new wrap lol.
