Big difference in looks, I kinda like it. If that was flat black on my truck...How hard is it to get flat black paint of off stainless steel? Asking for a friend.
Kinda agree, looks good black. Little peaked that us with wraps (I have blue PPF) will need to rewrap the cantrails when replaced - perhaps I'll go for gloss black on them instead.

Never used plastidip. How well does it hold up? Is it easy to scuff or put marks in them? I know they’re meant to be non-permanent right?
I’ve plastidipped the wheels on my S and they hold up very well!

Me neither but I have heard preparation is the key to lasting a long time. I am thinking of trying it it we get a warm day soon.

I wonder if a pre-cut cantrail PPF would be easier and longer lasting. But definitely open to hearing your experience.

I’m going to hold off as long as I can for the recall.

took 18 cans of black plasti dip to do my bedroom window. Should have just went with aluminum. Tip, it shrinks with heat so I still have a 1/8” light gap after about 6 months. Definitely go with a wrap.

AFAIK, they are replacing the entire cantrail piece with one that ‘bolts’ into the truck.

So it will be a new piece.
Yeah, per the recall paperwork, the new one has the front stud welded to the stainless instead of the carrier brackets.

That is correct.
