What does that mean? If you lose steer by wire the steering wheel should be completely flaccid and not turn the wheels at all as I understand it. That sounds scary.
How did you park?

Anyone else experience a temporary loss of steer by wire. I parked for a few and let the truck shut down, and after returning it was back to normal.
I wonder if that basketball kid might have experienced same thing?

Steering is disabled when the vehicle is off: until there is weight in the seat and the brake is depressed, the wheel will not activate the rack.

It’s possible that the steering will shut down if the seatbelt is unbuckled and the seat does not sense weight, but that should shut down everything.

Should it not be a stored alert/code in Service Mode? I'd definitely get it checked out, rather than ignore it until something actually breaks

are you saying while the truck was parked, the steering wheel did not move the tires? Normal.

How do you park without steering?

Loss of 4 wheel turning or total loss of steering power?

Were you driving or parked when this happened?

Technically impossible
My FSD does this all the time! No steering required- it arrives at destination and then randomly stops at an odd angle half across parking spots and the road. Seems within spec to me!

17,000 miles on my CT, never ever had any issue with the DBW...at all.

It does turn off, the yoke will straighten to allow you to exit the vehicle, then return to position when in drive.

Give yourself at least a week and 500 miles on your CT to allow yourself to adjust.

That said: Try going back to your ICE car after only driving a CT for 6 months! - You'll have a laundry list of what's wrong with a traditional car!.

Regards
Jack

If someone posts steer by wire failure, then never responds to the requests for more information, I am thinking troll? Tesla "disliker" trying to cause a problem?
Not everyone posts every hour like I do lol, but if you’re gonna drop a bomb like that some details would be nice
