Very excited to have gotten my lightbar installed just a few days ago. Here’s my experience. I tried to make an appointment on the app, it was cancelled and told to wait for an email when available. I instead, went to a service center in person and talked to the service manager who was able to order the bar and complete installation within a week. I had to connect the bar myself ( easy 2 minute job) if you’re used to working on cars and molding. If not, maybe 15 minute then. The following day I drove down to LA freeway speeds. No issues at all, no extra wind noise, no failures. Average speed 70-80 with occasional 90 to pass. Got a chance to turn it on at night. Photos don’t do it justice but it pretty awesome. Controlled from either plugs and accessories or lights tab. You can assist the output same as bed lights. You can choose between ditch, food, or both.

No instructions on how to connect it, so I opened up the side panel to find that Tesla Service had already made the connection, something they are not allowed to do:
Service didn't connect it. Early gen trucks came with that connected and capped wires up top . First gen instructions left soldering to owner. Second gen instructions had the service soldering and disconnecting the connector.
Later lightbars came with a connector on the harness, no soldering needed. It replaced the pigtail.

What about last week lightbars. Are you saying it's an early lightbar? There was no connector on the lightbar, just three bare wires.

Same, installed two weeks ago and service left me with the three bare wires, no soldering or connector.

so this was the phase one light bar, they should had given you a packet and install instruction, and 3 wires with a plug on the end that you would have to solder and insulate. phase 2 light bars that came out in Feb along with the new adhesive, have the plug on them and all you have to do is remove the passenger's side B Pillar Camera cover with a 10mm and plug it in, i would ask for the wiring kit with the plug from the service center.

Oh I did. And they have been going back and forth. I’m the first one installed at this service center.

I had 2 light bars installed one in Duluth GA in March and one in July in Milford Connecticut, I just had to plug-in the plug underneath the B pillar and the software picked up the light and installed it in a truck system. My 2024 FS Beasts

There’s “no phase one light bar” there’s only one light bar.

They’ve been multiple installation methodologies and this was the approach was “first one” at least with regard to wiring. They’ve been through three different wiring approaches (and a fourth if you count the SCs that just went ahead and hooked everything up even though they’re not supposed to).

As far as attaching the light bar they’ve gone through two different approaches and if the service centers are using the new prep/adhesive instructions on these later installs that were seeing fail then they might be having to revise that yet again. It’s my suspicion that the ones that are failing now are not using the new procedure, but who knows. Tesla SCs are all over the place! It’s a known, known.

no sure if my information is correct,
however, the light bars now come with the Plug attached as the ones prior to March 2025 came with the 3 wires and the added wiring kit that was left on the customers seat along with install instructions

As I stated, that’s a change in connection strategy which just means they’re adding a connector to the end of the light bars, it’s not a different light bar.

They’re trying to walk a line of making it simple without violating the law which does not allow them to sell this as a first party and connect it to the vehicle for various reasons.

But the light bar itself remains exactly the same. There’ve been multiple supposed reports of a “new version” coming that’s going to connect to the rack or this, that and, the other. I’ve said from the beginning that that isn’t going to happen and it’s been verbally confirmed at the top (Wes).

So, there’s only one light bar. There will only ever be one factory light bar. And there, as yet, has been nothing to change the original assertion that this was going to be FS/CB only perk.

It’s been a PITA for them, obviously, and I am certain that they are not going to expand that pain beyond the 3500 or so vehicle vehicles that they’ve promised it to.

Somebody decided the fact that they had a price in their work order was evidence that it was going to be sold eventually, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. They need a price for replacement estimates and estimating work orders.

As one of the first owners to get one installed and one of the first to have it start detaching … it’s fine. Just fine.

If you don’t get a free one with your car, there are plenty of better options. It’s too dim, not really pointed in the right direction, not adjustable and is basically style over substance. I wouldn’t choose it over a literally ANY third-party option that I’m aware of that’s expressly been made for the CT.

you seem to have a lot more information than I do, but I do know that in 2024
Tesla Produced 7060, 2024 FS Cyberbeasts, and they all have a light bar committed to the remaining purchasers.
when i was looking at the Tesla website for a cyberbeast, in June, the light bar was only available for a 2004 Foundation series Cyberbeast, I do not believe it is available for the 2025 Cyberbeast, but I did hear from the Milford CT TESLA Service center, this may become a add on in 2026 for any Cyberbeast. how true that is, again it remains to be seen.

thanks for your insight.

The best estimate we have been able to find between the best minds on the forum (and there have been many discussions with references and citations) is about 3500 max. I’d love to know where you’re getting 7000 figure.

I actually just researched it again (earlier this week) using AI assistance and still came back with roughly the same number i.e. 3.5k.
