Hi all,

I’ve got a 2024 Cybertruck AWD with about 7,500 miles on it, and I’ve noticed an issue with the front driver and passenger entry buttons on the B-pillar. They used to have a nice, satisfying click, but now they feel mushy and lack that tactile feedback. I have to press them pretty hard to get the doors to open, and there’s barely any “click” anymore. The rear door buttons still feel crisp, but I’m guessing that’s because they get less use.

Is this typical and the normal for everyone else's Cybertruck? Has anyone else experienced this? If you’ve taken it to service for this, did Service actually fix the issue? I’m debating whether to schedule a service appointment or if this is just how the buttons age with frequent use.

Thanks for any insights or experiences you can share!

My front driver's side button stopped working after just a few 1,000 miles. It was fixed by service. They didn't explain why. It has worked properly since. At the time I had to open the rear door, reach forward with a pole and press the unlock front door from the inside.

My front door buttons never had the nice tactile feel that my rear door buttons do. I'm a big fan of tactile feel like button presses and it's always irked me a bit that the button I use 99% of the time doesn't have it but I'm also not super anal to actually put in a service request for it. It is what it is. :)

8k miles on mine and I have the same loss of tactile feel on the front only as well. I think the tactile feel goes away fastest with the doors that are used the most.

Same here (FS AWD ~21,000mi delivered May 2024).

Started out crisp, have gotten a bit mushy and sometimes don't respond to presses.

Rears are still crisp (and get almost zero use).

Also, if you are close enough to the vehicle you can "pop" the door using the app, would save you from having to crawl across to open it from the inside.

I think it wouldn't be hard for Tesla to allow the option to "Open Driver's door on approach" in the app. I mean, you wouldn't HAVE to allow it if you didn't want. But, I think I'd like the door to do that little pop open thing that you can do from the app already. Why not make it automatic?

Because it can't relatch if you weren't actually getting in. Only Model X can pull the doors shut.

As I'm reaching for the door, it could pop open. My CT knows I'm approaching, it knows I'm at the door. The camera can tell I'm reaching... Seems easy enough to pop open the door. Of course, leave the option to opt out for those people who routinely walk up to their CT and outstretch their arms to the door with no intention of opening it...

That assumes sentry mode is on.
Reaching is a different action than just approaching and would have less false activations (though, at that point, aren't you like 2 inches away from the normal button anyway?)
