0-60 mph in 6.5 isn't slow for a truck. This is especially true for one that weighs over 3 tons. Cybertrucks already have a very high fatality rate per mile driven. How many of those incinerated after losing control of their Cybertrucks were in Cyberbeasts.?
The problem isn't the single motor but the loss of other features that were worth more than $10,000.
Everyone that produced full size EV trucks significantly overestimated the market. My bet is some smaller EV trucks actually sale better than industry leader Ford Lighting has done. And the Cybertruck is incredible ugly unwrapped. So that adds another at least another $5-10K just to make it not look ridiculously stupid. Musk's emphasis on fast vehicles but cheap (poor) driver vehicle interface is why Teslas have such high accident and fatality rates in general.
Wow - the desperate projection is strong with this one ... :ROFLMAO::rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

Notice he didn't quote any NHTSA data or statistics because he posted 100% BS.
Teslas are by far the safest vehicles on the planet (and it's not even close).

There's a button at the bottom of the Tesla website where you can pose questions to the Tesla Assist AI. I asked "Has the long range cybertruck been discontinued?" and got the following response:

Oddly, it didn't mention Canada, but I checked the Canadian order page and the Long Range trim is gone there too.

The Cybertruck info page now lists specs for the Cyberbeast and AWD only. The RWD specs have disappeared down the same hole as the Range Extender specs.
Canada never even got the "opportunity" for the LR RWD. Our prices here are still insane - which, ngl, I like because it makes my vehicle quite niche and upscale.

It should have been priced at $59,990.

Not lowering the $69,990 MSRP tells me that margins must be thin on the Cybertruck. I bet that less than 250 RWD trucks were ever manufactured.
My guess is Tesla lost a lot of money with the purchase of the GigaPress, so they're (to some extent) scrambling to make up for the loss. Most likely, Tesla can simply offset this loss from their other divisions (3/Y sales and Energy), which is why it won't see the same demise as the DeLorean.

You actually accept this "safest vehicles" BS claim? It has been thoroughly debunked. Tesla has the highest fatality rate of any auto manufacturer based on miles driven. Tesla has the highest fatal accident rate of all car brands, followed by Kia, Buick, Dodge and Hyundai. Tesla's claim uses vastly distorted statistics that compare highway driving, where fatalities are the lowest.

I checked the Canada order page and I see what you mean.

AWD Cybertruck is $142,882 CA$, currently equivalent to $103,179 US$.
Cyberbeast is $175,882 CA$, currently equivalent to $127,061 US$.

Prices do not include FSD, free Supercharging, or the Luxe Package. Would have to think that sales are low.

Have heard that Tesla Canada is now importing Model Ys from the Berlin Gigafactory to avoid tariffs on US vehicles. That won't work for the Cybertruck, though, because it is only made in Austin.

There's really no basis for comparing the Cybertruck to the DeLorean, except that they both have stainless steel exteriors and vaguely triangular design elements. The DeLorean was made by an underfunded startup company that failed after making about 9,000 units. The Cybertruck is made by a wealthy established company that has made at least 60,000-70,000 units so far, with no signs that production is ending.

A better comparison might be with the Ford Edsel. The Edsel was only launched after Ford spent a great deal of money on development and hype. Unfortunately, customers were not impressed with the product as released. The Edsel ultimately sold nearly 120,000 units, but that was way below projections, and nowhere near enough to recoup the investment costs.

Ford finally killed the Edsel because they needed the factory capacity for other vehicles that were selling better. The Cybertruck is safe from that threat, at least for now, because Tesla currently has excess factory capacity for all of their existing models.

Only time Tesla should use the "Long Range" title on a CT is when we get a 500-mile Cybertruck. You know, something like the initial marketing push on the range. Just sayin'. :)

I’m pretty sure if the DOD or someone wanted to negotiate a large scale buy, this configuration would be feasible and probably at the price most of us think it should go for.
As a consumer product, it’s a boneheaded option though.

Still no NHTSA data or statistics quoted, because you also know you're posting 100% BS.

You two sound like those who work for today's corrupt MSM, and you are obviously the types of anti-Tesla trolls to be ignored.

Exactly. Which is why I'm so glad I got my FS for the exact same price as the regular non-FS AWD with no frills. And yes, your comment about importing from Berlin for MY is true. At one point, before the tarrifs, technically (because I have new vehicle replacement insurance) if my CT AWD had gotten totaled, I could've replaced it with a non-FS Beast for the same price. Now, however, not so much.

I suspect you are correct about those people spouting off crap they know nothing about. If you'd like a deep dive on the subject Snopes has one here: Study Claimed Tesla Had Highest Fatality Rate of Any Car Brand – But Is It True? | Snopes.com

TLDR: Study by iSeeCars with private data stated a wild claim based on their data. Other sources such as IIHS do not agree with the iSeeCars wild claims. iSeeCars has never responded to inquiries about their data and have not publicly backed up anything with facts that could be verified by other independent sources.

It would be as if I told you that I have data that says the user going by the name
PungoteagueDave is actually a serial killer wanted by law enforcement. Then when you asked me for that data, I simply didn't reply.

HTH!

All this talk about RWD being the rarest CT.

How many CTs on the road have the original horn? That's the true sign you got something special.
OG horn right here! AND I was so happy that one of you honked at me here in Vegas recently and had it too! I got the BIGGEST smile!!!

That must only remain on a select few FS trucks at this point. I have one of the first NFS trucks ever made and mine came from the factory with the new horn.

That’s right, I believe somewhere around vin #30xxx all CTs started being shipped with the new horn. And of course, those of us with the OG horn were all given the opportunity to “upgrade.” By comments on the forum at the time, it seems like well over 50% decided to do it.
