Awesome thread! thanks all my cars have refused to pull into my driveway as well. Just added a "road" for my driveway -- hope it works

Interesting perception of this concept. Curious if this will work. Tesla is working on getting FSD to work with driveways. “Auto park/unpark” on FSD is not an enabled feature in CT but it is on other models, CT will do it sort of, but we have the separate “autopark” stack that needs to be selected at the end of the drive, but CT FSD often positions itself to reverse park in a spot or even pulls into a spot in parking lots for me. I think they just need more “auto park” data from users, because the auto reverse park and parallel park features are OK at best currently (often not centered in spot, and for parallel parking like a foot or more from the curb) same for starting drive- my FSD icon shows up as soon as i put the car on drive at a curb or im my driveway- and i can engage it- sometimes it goes right from there, sometimes it needs some encouragement with a tap of the go pedal… like im telling it to go, and it will… but often its a bit aggressive with its take off, or other times its slow to pull out… still a work in progress

I wonder when you add a road to the map will that show up on everyone’s Google map?

I took a shot in the dark and used the 'edit' map option on google maps from a pc - this edit allows you to draw where the road is and send that in for review.

The edit was accepted and a couple hours later google maps online would show my driveway from the main street to the house.
I park in a garage with a street facing gate.

When I use FSD, the car try to park in front of the gate instead of entering inside the garage.

Also the house is built on top of a two regular size lots but the Google map only show the first lot number and no number on the second lot while the entrance is on the second slot who is also the mailing address.

This confuse the city garbage truck in the morning who often miss our garbage bin because they could not find the street address number and sometime some UPS driver who don't stop while I can see on the UPS delivery map the truck passing by.

Do you think there would be an easy way to possibly correct the Google map to add a number on the second lot?

Also if I can put the GPS location of the second block on the back of lot, this could help FSD to enter inside the garage instead of parking in front of it?

Attempted two fixes.

Fix 1 the driveway location for local headstart program. Google says the fix is live 30 min after I suggested the edit.

Fix 2 added my drive way as a parking lot but there is a bridge over a creek to start it. I will white knuckle this Fix alone when it goes live.

Thank you @speedstuff

My SO often pokes fun at "stupid FSD" for making crazy navigational choices. One that comes up often is at a highway intersection, where it detours 2.5 miles to make a u-turn, when it could simply just turn left.

I decided to pull up this route in Google Maps, and sure enough:

Screenshot 2025-09-16 at 1.39.24 PM.webp

I'll admit these roads are somewhat bonkers, but the problem seems to be that some of the frontage roads and on-ramps are "unnamed". Even when the dots connect, the Google algorithms seem to avoid such unnamed roads. There's even one place with an unnamed road where Google suggests I get out and walk the rest of the way! lol

I edited this area with names, let's see if it helps 🤷‍♂️
Can you try it in TomTom planner using this link: https://mydrive.tomtom.com/en_gb

I found things that my Tesla Model X does only repeatable in the TomTom planner which I thought Tesla used.

I’ve wondered if bad mapping data was to blame for FSD driving on the wrong side after turning onto a street.

Who here has experienced this phenomenon consistently at the same location? You should zoom into that spot in Google Maps, like this:

The white arrows show the direction of travel for one-way streets.

I have had this happen and wondered the same. I often use FSD on Mt. Baldy Road in SoCal as a test case, simply to see how software updates perform. The drive consists of a mountain road with tunnels, GPS satellite obscuration, hairpin turns, and steep grades. My CT/FSD generally executes the drive flawlessly except for one hairpin turn, and it’s the same spot every time. Going from the valley to the ski lift area (actually I stop or turn around at San Antonio Falls Rd) all is perfect but on the way down the mountain it takes one particular hairpin turn and switches lanes into the oncoming one. I’m convinced that there is an error in the mapping data but haven’t had the time to drill into this further. Would be cool if someone else in SoCal tried this route with FSD also. It’s not for the faint hearted on FSD but you’ll be all the more impressed with the CT’s steer-by-wire.

That’s interesting, but of course it is the code for requesting a speed limit for a road segment from Google, rather than sending a correction. Interesting to see the code behind how it’s done though.
yep! you could use a pull to gain insights to see how quickly edits can make their way to the live dataset. I thought I bookmarked one of the main crowdsourced DBs where you can submit corrections, but I can't find it at the moment.

That looks like a fantastic drive, FSD or not.

I examined the route on Mt. Baldy Road in Google Maps, and the only place I see one-way indicated is where it splits into a boulevard, near the resort:

The hairpin turns beyond that all look "normal". The only anomalies are where someone thought it would be a good idea to construct a road at the apex of a hairpin turn (Iron Gate and Wagon Wheel). I'd need to invoke the API to dig into the data further, but I don't have the time currently.

I just checked Google Maps and it has the pin right on my house but FSD refuses to turn into driveway to get to the house. It always stops me on the street next to the driveway.

You need to add a private road as a parking lot and draw it. If I'm doing it right.

I have two pending edits.

1. For my house so it will park in my driveway.

2. My Daughter’s school has a long driveway and a one way loop that's not on Google maps.

I've added my private driveway as a road but can't figure out how to do it as a parking lot. Google maps now shows my driveway as a road but my CT still won't turn down my driveway. It just stops on the main road in front of my driveway.
