Please tell about the available ones. What brand/model if they exist.

Thanks and have a good day!
Passenger EVs with range extenders
Anything that “adds range” is by definition a “range extender.”
Anything that “adds range” is by definition a “range extender.”
If you have to stop, it is simply recharging, not extending the driving range (since you must cease driving to do it).

The Bluetti app does let you throttle the input amperage charge rate to as low as 1 amp.

So you can throttle the ac charging like on my ecoflows but not dc input right? If you plug anything into the solar input it will attempt to draw the maximum wattage for that mppt controller?

Check out the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra. All you need is a twist-lock to NEMA 14-50/14-30 adapter and you've got 7,200 watts (30A) of 240v split-phase power from the inverter. Then you add 1-5 batteries, with 6kwh each to expand to your desired capacity. They also just released the Delta Pro Ultra X, which needs at least two of the same battery, but can do 14KW output. The Delta Pro Ultra (X) and batteries are kinda heavy, but the capacity and simplicity of use justify the mass, IMHO.

Yes. Another Ecoflow alternative is two delta pro 3’s through a 50 amp hub.

Make sure to update the firmware on your Ecoflow if the model is subject to the recall:

Tesla should pivot, and produce a "portable power station" that is a single layer of 4680's, the width of the bed and maybe a foot deep, that bolts to the floor. It would use simplified thermal management (air cooled) and provide power for any purpose, including to the mobile charger to add emergency range. It could charge from the 14-50 outlet.

It would be the "range extender lite": simple, low-profile, emergency power that uses existing connections and is user-installable. This obviously doesn't solve the long-distance range problem, but would be a cleaner setup than stacking generic power banks. There's a use-case for having a "jerry can" full of electricity.

Seems doable for about $4000?

Those Bluetti Apex 300s only have about 2.7kwh per pack. So even with two packs you can only add about 15 miles of real world range (6-7 if towing). That's a hell of a lot of money for 15 miles of range. I would love to have them, but can't justify the cost.

That is very accurate in that each Apex 300 or extender B300K has 2,785 kwhours of energy. But two Apex units tied to two B300K extenders renders over 11 kwhours and it fits nicely under the tonneau. They are easily re-deployable for whole-home electricity backup or other uses. And Bluetti is always having sales that offer 50-60% off.

But very fair to note that they are expensive.

It’s a very logical solution to make you more unstrandable.
Especially if you also carry some portable solar.
