Final 2025 SpaceX Falcon 9 Launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base

Maybe I should just stick to the plan and try get the kids to starbase for launch 12. I’m just tempted by how much simpler of a trip California is for me.

I'm gonna try to do both. The view for Star Base is good on both sides of the border but many prefer the Mexican side. There are AIRBNB and empty lots that you can camp out using your Cybertruck with good view. Hope to see some of you either at Vandenberg Space Force Base or Star Base. Have a safe holiday season y'all

Does anyone know if there are spots on base at Vandenberg that are advantageous? I am active duty so I would be open to getting on but also perfectly fine somewhere nearby too. I know getting really close will be restricted areas for obvious reasons.

I asked Grok and seems like no good on post viewing. I'm still gonna go in & ask around before settle in on an off site location. Let me know if you found an on post spot and I'll do same.

Btw, those empty lots charge a small fee to camp there. Only latrine are available. We all needs to be self sufficient. Most are one way in/out so they are fenced in.

For sure. Once SpaceX has narrow down the launch window at Star Base. We'll start coordinating a meet up location. Stay tuned.

I was there about 6 months ago and the launch was cancelled. Stayed one night at a hotel and the launch cancelled again the next day. So gave up and left.
If a few of you are going, will try to join the fun and hope the launch goes as planned

Star Base is an incorporated city with civilian rocket launch pads and rocket manufacturing facilities. It is basically owned by SpaceX and the city being populated by people that works there. Starships are being developed and test launched there.
Vandenberg Space Force Base is a highly guarded U.S. military installation with lots of secret squirrels stuff going on in there. SpaceX, being basically the only reliable rocket company in USA (in the world for that matter), is contracted by our government and friendly nations from around the world to launch their "important" satellites/payloads to orbit using SpaceX rockets and technologies.
Tomorrow, The Italian government is piggybacking one of their "important" satellite on Falcon 9, this is likely the final rocket launch by SpaceX this year; number 166?. The 1st stage of the rocket will land back around 8 minutes later near the launch site to be reuse again in 2026.

Yeah. Launching rockets is an exact science. Zero room for error. So far, weather conditions are favorable.

Never been there. I ask Grok and she suggested 1pm for the 6pm launch for the best spots and parking. Lots will fill up fast. I guess we will find out.
