If another CT was out of the question as part of this game, probably just an old large suv pr pickup of some kind a pocket the rest.

Anything new would feel antiquated vs the CT and a waste of money

Given a full refund of your CT purchase, what would you buy? Get a 2026 CT? Get a 24-25 CT used and pocket the diff? SilveradoEV or any other oddball?
I take it this is a hypothetical situation? Because, I don’t see any offers for buying back any cyber trucks!
I don’t see me ever selling my truck back! Once everybody else turns their truck back in, I will have the only Cybertruck Beast left!🤣

The situation is referring to the people getting theirs bought back by Tesla due to Lemon Laws or other issues.

So I am in this boat right now. Working thru a buyback on a 2025 AWD. I am going to buy another CT as it is the best vehicle I have ever owned. The debate is the difference between a Beast and the AWD. I just do not see enough benefits for going with the Beast. Anyone have a recommendation on why Beast over AWD?
Same; in the process of trying to get mine bought back. I'm going with an AWD '26 CT. Drove a Beast. Still don't think there was enough for the $20k difference; $100k vs $80k when I bought mine. Now, it's a $35k difference; $115k vs $80k. No thanks.

It's going to be tough to ever replace the Cybertruck when the time unfortunately comes. I worry nothing will ever be as ground breaking and exciting as it is.

Mercedes is definitely quality. I just wish the EQS didn't remind me of an Accord.
My father always wanted a Mercedes and late in life got one (or 2?). He told me that the maintenance frequency and cost soured him on Mercedes. Clearly some people either haven’t had that kind of experience or don’t care. I wouldn’t get a German car if it was the last car on the planet.

I am getting refunded for my Cybertruck. Tesla is buying it back. 😄

After my experience, I will not be getting another Cybertruck. I originally planned to replace it with a Cadillac Vistiq, but I have since changed course and will most likely return to Mercedes for our next EV.

We previously owned an EQS SUV and currently have an AMG EQE SUV. At this point, we will likely either get another EQS SUV or try the EQS sedan.

Out of all the EVs we have owned, Mercedes has provided the most consistent, reliable, and high quality experience overall. That is what has me strongly leaning in that direction again.

At this point, I have no interest in another Cybertruck or Tesla as a primary vehicle. That said, I would not rule out something like a Model 3 Performance in the future as an additional fun car, but not as a daily driver.

Because obviously you dislike Musk but don’t mind buying from the guys that invented fascism?

Probably a condo in the Philippines I think Elon should give everyone that bought a cyber truck full FSD for free. investors have been hanging on the Tesla stocks for a long time now and it’s not doing very well. It’s time he did something instead of making people angry.

My Cybertruck was bought back and after a year I ended up getting a R1T. Rear steering is missed and the CT is better in every way. At some point I may get another CT. But for now I am happy with the R1T.
Congrats. Rivian is still a great truck.

If the CT didn’t exist, I would still be driving a 2019 Ram 1500 (which I still own). I would not purchase a Rivian (too small) or a Hummer (terrible QC) or a Silverado EV (again, terrible QC, another GMC). And the Lightning is dead (even if it wasn’t, not interested).
The CT is in a league of its own. There is no other vehicle (car or truck) that can compare.
Maybe there are other vehicles with steer by wire or an example of 4 wheel steering. But none of them have exemplified the precision of Tesla’s implementation of both together and at the level of their integration.
Mercedes has been a long-standing beacon of quality. But their recent iterations have been poor implementations of their storied past. And their oblong attempt at EVs with the EQS, et al, is not only hideous, it’s a long way from the advances of Tesla’s software, FSD in particular, and cannot compare to the capabilities of its vehicles.
With respect, the quality and luxury of Mercedes is far and above most car manufacturers. But that does not always equate to better vehicles, or guarantee them success in the rapidly progressing market. Mercedes may have conquered the 20th century in the eyes of baby boomers, but the 21st century is asking for the future of transportation. And until we have full autonomy, the Cybertruck exemplifies all of our advances and more…

This has nothing to do with Elon Musk or politics. I’m talking about vehicle quality and ownership experience. I buy cars, not ideologies.

If we’re going to reduce every purchase decision to historical or political purity tests, no one would be allowed to own anything.

I want a car that is predictable, refined, and works well day to day. That is why I am going back to Mercedes and not interested in another Cybertruck.

All of the American cars we've owned (Teslas, Cadillacs) required numerous dealership visits for laundry lists of issues and ultimately ended up being bought back as lemons.

All of the German cars we've owned (Mercedes) had one minor issue at delivery that got fixed and then never had any issues for the rest of the time we had them and were wonderful vehicles to live with.

Your mileage may vary.

Here we go on the German thing. Next I expect to see a black and white photo with a bad uniform and a guy standing next to a VW Bug.

The EQS's look like a great option.

I think that is great and I am gladly wrong. My first far was a used VW Squareback and I loved it (maybe because it was my first car), though I had to rebuild the engine, and I had to tune it up basically every week. But it was a great learning experience. I do not think that my father was into auto mechanics so he just took it in the shorts at the dealer. He could afford it - just didn't like it.
