Why would it only be offered for 10 days at that price? That's disappointing, I was hoping I could make it happen this summer. 🥵

Tesla is gauging ‘price elasticity of demand’ (PED) for the new model. It’s gauging demand over the next 10 days for the new trim. If demand is high the price will increase after 10 days.

Just placed my order!
Coming from a Jeep Gladiator, gonna be a little different. 😂 Was actually on the list for a Scout Terra but with the new delay I decided to jump on this deal.
The CT is so much better than the Gladiator, it's like they say in Pulp Fiction... "Same Ballpark? Not even the same sport!"

I say that as someone who likes Jeeps.

Elon said "see how sales respond". I think it will continue. This price will easily double CT sales.

Typical car sales tactiques, especially for used cars.

This is the last one !!!
Missing opportunity !!!
You will never get such good deal !!!

From Tesla words:

No more FSD ownership after Feb 14th !!!
No more transfer after March 31 !!!
Will last only 10 days !!!

Honestly, I will look for a new car when I will need to replace the one I have,
principally for personal reasons, such as I need a bigger one, I need a newer one,
I am moving, or I plan to make a long trip in the summer... and so on.

I think Elon was referring to something else.

The $59k version isn’t even available right now — it’s supposed to be available after June. If you place an order today, pricing is determined at the time of delivery, not at the time of order. So if the price increases before delivery, your final purchase price increases as well.

Because of that, I don’t think his comment was about locking in the $59k configuration today. He must have been referring to something different.

If you want, I can also make it slightly more assertive or more neutral depending on the tone you want to project (since Tesla forums can get… intense 😅).

These are orders, not reservations nor deposits . People get an actual order agreement with the locked in price.

This is a very good deal. If you are on the fence about this, put down the deposit.

After the 10 days:
If the trim is no longer available, you got an awesome truck at a great price and a unicorn.
If the price goes up, you're good again.
If the price goes down (doubtful), cancel your order and place another one on the better deal. Worth losing $250 IMO.

Looking forward. I’ve finally reached the point of wanting a better ride and better mpg doesn’t hurt.

There is no difference other than the tire/wheel size. I asked a sell’s rep today and was told they don’t know.
The wheels are 18" or 20", not the tire size. On this trim of the Cybertruck it looks to me like the OD of the tire is the same no matter which size wheel you get. The 18" wheel will have a tire with a larger sidewall, the 20" wheel will have a smaller tire sidewall. The difference in 2" more of wheel versus 2" more of tire sidewall is almost negligible.

This isn't like the other Tesla models where when you get larger wheels, you also get larger tires which both negatively impact range.

Don't know this with 100% certainty, but it appears that way to me.

I would put in the order. It doesn't ship until June.

I would have purchased this but have just took delivery of an AWD two weeks ago after trading my RWD. I loved the RWD, only sad the tonneau was cancelled.

This dual motor AWD was what I wished they would have made, even if was $70k, would have bought it.

Glad they made it. Hopefully they keep this trim, however it could be temporary to get rid of excess RWD components inventory they were hoping to been a volume seller.

Also, might be start of transitioning to the full autonomy Cybertruck transport version Elon spoke about.

The 18" are the same they came with my RWD. It is 18" with ~34" 285x70x18 Goodyear Wrangler HT. I liked those wheels better than the hubcaps I have now.

I think the 18" wheels and tires fit the cybertruck theme more. The tires look beefier looking, so looks like a Mars rover.

Indeed
18 inch rim diameter vs 20 inch rim means 1 inch less sidewall, tire diameter for a 285/65R20 is 34.6 so roughly 8.3 vs 7.3 inch (12% change). Plus the tires are both all season so similar rolling resistance.
Cyber vs core are both 20 inch rims and 35 inch tire, but the tread is all season vs all terrain.

Model Y wheels range from 18 to 21 inch rims with 5.1 to 3.8 inches of sidewall (34% change). Sidewall and tread width change, but circumference is within 1.5%, with different tire formulations.

Model S all seasons are 4.5 sidewall on 19s and 3.7 on 21s, 19% change and the 21s are half the sidewall of the Cybertruck 20s.
