Yeah, the CT is the longest vehicle I have ever owned, but driving it is epic. I believe I have 3 feet clearance too. I wanted to at least open the tailgate while parked inside. To maintain this position, I placed some blue painters tape on the floor which I can see in the rear camera while backing in. I have probably 6 inches clearance between the front bumper and the garage door. 🤨

That back wall clearance may get annoying overtime, particularly if you visit Home Depot or Costco. Also be be careful with releasing the tailgate in the app. I have the opposite problem and have a tandem garage.

IMO That car port outside sounds ideal if there would be a way to cover it.
Also that CT battery is deep bucket, may have difficulty if you drive over 40miles a day. May have to spring for 240
Lowering the tail gate will be no bueno as I have to back in to charge (have 240v Wall Charger on the back wall ) but no room for the tail gate drop when fully pulled in. Luckily, I'm 6'5" and can reach in to get most stuff out for the Costco HD runs. I have plenty of parking space out front as I'm on a short private drive with ample parking in front of the garage (4 car widths) but I prefer the clean look of no vehicles visible and garage door closed.

Begs the question why the Thread? and my only answer is you can't have enough information to filter through for the best solutions. I am committed to this being my last vehicle purchase. I've had 4 Tesla's in the last 6 years and have been semi-retired for most of that time. I've discovered that frequent vehicle swapping is not a sound investment strategy. o_O

The wife says, hey we've worked hard all our lives, get what you want ... I think I might be pushing that strategy a bit to far with my "this is the last vehicle I'll ever own" searching buying. Introspection is a bitch ...

Thanks for the reply's. I did a search on garage parking and got nothing before starting this Thread. Once posted, several older threads from 2024 showed up. In any case, all our kids are out of the house (amazing, right?) so the garage only has a wall of cabinets on the opposite side of the CT, plus my ever changing collection of ebikes to deal with.

I have finagled a way for this to work but I sure miss the old Tesla radar sensors on the bumper(s) giving a readout in inches. Cameras will work I suppose but @ 74, my vision and reaction times aren't what they used to be. It'll probably take me 10 minutes to get it in the garage the first few times then get much easier. I told the wife the garage was no problem so asking her to be a spotter won't be happening ;) . I find that maintaining the illusion of complete competence gets more difficult every year.Thank god for FSD.:)
But a set of parking bumpers like these, install in garage to give the correct amount of clearance up front if pulling in or behind if backing in. Makes it stupid easy to get the depth correct every time down to 1 inch

I have two of the smaller 3 1/2" tall by 24" wide ones on order from Amazon and will try them out. They won't be visible by the rear camera so it's going to be like brail parking. I hope the throttle sensitivity is like all my other Tesla's so that slow creep is possible.

It is, I have them in my front parking setup, drive over them, can't see them, very distinct bump, especially if on concrete floor they make it super easy, you are going to have to floor it to go over them or not feel them

I just spent the day prepping my oversized (they called it a 2 1/2 car) garage for the Cybertruck that arrives next week. The garage is wide but normal depth (21 ft). Both my wife and I park in the garage and share a Tesla Wall charger. We also have two 120V travel chargers permanently installed for slow charging our cars which are my wife's 2024 Model 3 and my 2025 Model Y. The Y is being traded in for the Cybertruck. While width in garage is no problem, I only have 3 ft total extra space lengthwise to work with once the Cybertruck moves in. I'm interested in what it's like keeping a large vehicle like the Cybertruck in a garage.

I also have a large empty RV parking pad on the garage side of the house with a powered gate and that is my second option. I'd need an extension cord to reach the Cybertruck's charge port or, install another Wall Charger on the outside wall. I'm getting the Cybertruck wrapped (PPF) and I really prefer to keep it garaged. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
I was in a similar situation before I bought mine: wife needed to make sure the truck would fit while still being able to easily walk around it. Luckily, we have a longer than normal (?) 2 car garage at 22’ 9”. I’ve posted pics before on this forum but will post here as well. We also have the same vehicles as you will have: 2024 Model 3 and CT.

I back in to my garage and use the dirt line on the floor (from the garage door) to know how far I need to back in. Using the front camera makes it super easy. Also, when using this line as the marker, the frunk can open without hitting the garage door (1” of clearance!). I also use side cameras to make sure I’m lined up to enter the garage and have enough space on each side when parked. Lastly, I also park at a slight angle so there’s more space on the driver side to get in/out.

The only tricky thing to get used to is the 4-wheel steering when backing into the garage. Until I got used to it, I'd tend to park too close to the driver side wall. Took me about a week or two to get used to it.

If it helps, here are my garage floor plan and pics. The space between our two vehicles looks small in the pic but there's more than enough space to fully open the doors. Hope this helps!

Not sure I'd want to be standing behind a Cybertruck backing itself into my garage using dumb summons ... :ROFLMAO:

My garage is by 1' deeper but I too wanted reliable parking boundaries without bumpers to trip or strings hanging from the ceiling. At first I used this tape on the floor - placed where it just appears in the camera view, so I stop:
Tapix 2 Inch x 108 Feet Black & Yellow Tape Roll

Later, I moved garage obstruction sensors up a bit to the height of the bumper and automated it using Home Assistant and a red/green light that plugged into a wall receptacle on the front wall to turn green as soon as sensors clear:
Multi-Function Night Light

Thank you, very helpful. I wish I had done that same garage floor treatment when the house was built 25 years ago. You are correct and our garages are about the same size. Mine only has a double garage door making the entry point a bit narrow but after about 100 measurements I think it'll work out fine.:)

measure twice, cut once is my SOP
My standard procedure is:
  • measure twice
  • cut once
  • measure again
  • cut three more times
  • start over twice
  • back to Home Depot four times
  • give up and hire someone

I had a loaner CT for one night and plan to purchase one soon. My garage allows for about 1” of clearance lengthwise but it’s doable with the bumper camera. I actually modified the back wall of the garage so the studs aren’t in the way of the bumper, otherwise it would be impossible. I plan to place wooden blocks on floor to stop the wheels and maybe a hang up a string or something.

You have to hold the "back" button the whole time it's moving, I assume you'd probably let go after you got pretty squished. 🤣
